Sorry, but to me this deserves its own thread. Rest In Peace Adam. The Beasties have been an amazing and highly positive musical and cultural influence. They evolved from ignorant knuckleheads to one of the most socially conscious groups around -- all while continuing to be funky as hell. He will be missed. The string of records from License to Paul's to Check to Ill is up there with the Bends to Ok Computer to Kid A in terms of a modern band that took a sound and constantly evolved in interesting and unexpected ways. Great artist. RIP. alav ha-shalom.
Sad day for music. I don't think many people nowadays realize how influential the Beastie Boys were. It's truly a shame.
I'm pretty torn up about this. It just doesn't seem real to live in a world where the Beasties are no more.
I was a punker who got into hip hop in the mid 80s pretty much because the Beastie Boys were a punk band who started rapping. RIP, MCA. Very sad day. Cancer sucks.
Wow. Anybody got some peanut butter? Because this is THE JAM! I forgot what a good cut this was. RIP MCA

An unreleased video of the Beasties on Chappelle's show (never aired because season 3 never happened) has been making the rounds. So far, Viacom has blocked it at least twice, but the link on this page is still working http://laughingsquid.com/unaired-clip-of-the-beastie-boys-performing-on-chappelles-show-2004/ Direct link ! Watch it quick before they block it again. Really like the Mix Master Mike break
No way can Viacom block every copy of that video http://c-7153650383.a-flickr.i-1880...83_766.mp4&s=a21b3bf7932cc4141f2ee632214d4300
Every first rhyme by MCA in the Beasties canon. Theeeeey got a committee / to get me off the block Cuz I say my rhymes loud / and I say them nonstop. (that line still cracks me up... and it's run through my head for years during every discussion of a new commitee....)
