OK, you anti-Bushites, Dems, liberals and leftists and others of that particular ilk. Here's the poll for you. Though others are welcome to join in. Apologies for typos, but you get the idea. Vote for what you think will ACTUALLY happen, not what you would LIKE to happen, on what you think SHOULD happen. No "wishing will make it so" answers!!
This is a great poll. I'm thinking the Democrats go for incompetence on both Iraq AND thye economy. They can't accuse Bush of betrayal. The American public can't accept the idea that their President is an immoral figure- whether it be true or not. And the Dems lose.
Which option covers 'Bush screws up Iraq, leaving himself extremely vulnerable but Howard Dean gets turned into a caricatured softheaded liberal and loses'? Although, if I got some good odds I'd put a few bucks down on Dean or Kerry, Bush may have reached too far with Iraq.
Where's the option for "Hillary enters the race, runs on a platform of universal health care & castration for cheating husbands and narrowly loses when she fails to carry Arkansas & Chappaqua"?
Where's the option where Democrats will run shady radio ads in minority communities, with clanking chains in the background, accusing the President and Attorney General of torturing immigrants with the Patriot Act. Then, get called on it and deny any responsibility because it's a third-party ad with loose ties to Democratic strategists. Also, with Osama and Saddam long gone, the economy recovering, and the Democrats throwing as much mud around as they can to claim an unwinnable election. Then, on election night, claim that blacks and hispanics were turned away across the country at polling booths by gun-toting Republicans dressed in suits who told them the election is the following Thursday. Oh yeah, and then the Dems challenge the election results in Madison because the 3rd truckload of University of Wisconsin student absentee ballots were not accepted, throwing the election to Bush. And, of course, that truckload came from the black fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta, thus prompting a racial bias suit against the sitting president. Somehow, Jeb Bush gets tied to the suit, even though he presides over a state 2500 miles away.
Interesting poll... "Dems will say Bush believed it, was wrong and incompetent, but still lose." Why? Not because of anything Bush says or does; rather, b/c they will, once again, be fearful of losing any of the corporate straddle-backing theyu currently have by embracing the 20-30% of Americans that are "left" of their platform, a decisive amount of which will STILL vote left of their candidate, post-911 environment (and a second - first? - Bush election) notwithstanding...
