This will become a poll before too long. Eddie Johnson the all star just tapped into a deep well of hate. I mean really. Just want to see how the rest of the community feels. Eddie Johnson is my vote. Somebody must have Olave. conner casey?
I don't hate the Grown Ass Man at all. I'm actually happy for him in a way, that he had enough left in the tank to come back and resurrect his flagging career. My votes would be for Brek Shea "Fell Over", Marquez (obvious choice is obvious), and Kei Kamara (even though he's clearly turned his career around and he is a real handful now).
Thinking on this... are there any great villains anymore? Yeah, I can dislike GAM and others but is there anyone out there on par with the likes of Kovalenko or Stoichkov. Players who would end the careers of fellow players or college kids without much thought. Maybe I am being nostalgic but few come close to that level of evil anymore. Danny Califf would come close but I don't think he actually puts that much thought into the dangerous stuff he does..
No Calgirlie, Denton or Heaps eh? Since they aren't in the league. Do you mean hate to hate or hate to see on the opposition? Wingert booing is always rewarding, but I don't mind seeing him at CB.
When I read the thread title, this is pretty much what I thought. There are a handful of guys I dislike -- Marquez, Montero, Henry -- but there aren't any guys off the top of my head that I just wish would get run over by a bread truck. Marquez would be the closest, but he's become such a joke that I actually laugh at him more than I hate him.
I was thinking about the villain angle too. There really aren't that many. Actually I was thinking more of goons and how they helped to grow hockey. Where are the Marty McSorley's, the Tie Domi's, the Misty Mountain Hop? In MLS terms, I would say, where are the Cle Kooiman's?
1. Everyone bringing up their favorite villans of years past and no one brings up Blanco??? I know hes got to be Padula's top villain of all time. 2. Today who do I hate the most? Thats Easy....Marquez. Yeah hes a joke but hes still who he is. Much like Blanco at the end. 3. My top villain of all time is Marco Etcheverry. God he killed me in the early years of lovin the Black and Gold. How many cups would we own if it werent for him?
Shalrie Joseph. I don't know if I can put into word how many of KCbus's bread trucks I would drive over him.
Atiba Harris and his Elbows of Doom Matt Pickens for calling the Columbus-Colorado draw in the first round of the playoffs and easy road for them despite us winning the SS. He then proved himself right
Hate - Javier Morales - Never liked him but the blatant knee to the balls two years ago in the Seattle game gets in a ticket to a-hole land. William Conde - Always the goonyest goon. Dislike - Kyle Beckerman - Shaving that guys head is a must. Rafa Marquez - As a US fan hate is a must. But I kind of like how he can seriously mess up NYRB for a long period of time. Kei Kamara - Always thought this guy is the biggest diver in the league or he has 10 times the pain receptors in his legs compared to a normal human being. Freddie Montero - The chip on his shoulder is bigger than he is.
Kei Kamara is a good player and he knows how to put the ball in the back of the net, usually. We should be careful about calling out "divers" as we have some serious flop artists on our team at the moment. I dislike Pablo Mastroeni and I didn't see him mentioned here already.
I'd second that. Thanked my lucky stars when the deal with Celtic fell through all those years ago. Hate DeRosario with an equal passion.
Does the crew have anyone worth hating? The answer is no because all our players are like little pus$y cats. We allow the other team to push us around, hit us with cheap shots and run us over like they've done it before. Maybe if we had an all- star a$$hole on the crew, we could win a few games and cut down on injuries brought on by opposing players who are themselves as$holes.
