Hope you all have seen the worst penalty ever taken. Budimir my word man. Ante Budimir misses his penalty in the 98th minute in possibly the worst way ever. 🫣🇭🇷 pic.twitter.com/d7i1vux2oh https://t.co/EjNipa4paS— LaLigaExtra (@LaLigaExtra) April 15, 2024
Palmer is joint PL top scorer with Haaland now. Most strikers care about PL golden boot. Bad behavior 😭 pic.twitter.com/qBFxPXQzqK— Mudryk Jr (@mudryk_jr) April 15, 2024 Yea. I want Bellingham to win Pichichi as well.
How can England not win the euro this season. They can play Rice - Belli - Saka - Foden - Palmer - Kane in midfield and attack, with the form of some of those players, hard to make an excuse if you don’t bring the trophy back with you.
I think it's more likely that Vinicius and/or Lewa making a late season run at the Pichichi. A hattrick or a couple of braces and they'll be right behind. Never really saw Bellingham winning it until he had an enormous lead and that's gone now. You answered your own question, but maybe you kane't see it with your PL blinders on.
Many people here make fun of the epl when there is a bad game but yet are often still watching their games. Not criticizing them, just stating a fact. That speaks volumes IMO. Don't think a typical hardcore epl fan watches any La Liga games. Maybe they tuned in to el Clasico when it had Messi and Ronaldo when the rivalry was on fire at a global level. Not now though. None of my friends who are fans of epl clubs watch any la liga games.
Depends on the striker tbh. Someone like Benz might not calculate such stuff, but no teammate is asking Ronaldo for the penalty if he's in a tight golden boot race even if he has scored a hat-trick. We have also seen Robben and Ribery fight for a free-kick as well.
If you know there is a designated penalty taker and you still try to take it away from them, you are putting personal goals above the team. You can ask politely but if it’s a no, it’s a no. I didn’t like it when Xabi took the ball away from Cristiano.
This is the best take: What a class bit of punditry from Dele Alli, absolutely nailed it. 👏🏻 pic.twitter.com/yEW05Vm0yq— Tom 🏴👹 (@TC_UTD) April 15, 2024
That all those players don't fight for the penalty when the team is down and the game is on the line, they only swarm the ball when the game is put to bed at 4-0 up and they get a cheap opportunity to grab a goal without the pressure to miss.
Luckily I don’t think he’ll continue after the Euros so going then isn’t going to cause much problems to the young talent.
We also have Mainoo, who looks like a very talented player, gives Southgate the option to play a balanced double pivot with him and Rice and Jude sitting ahead of them and behind Kane. The defence and goalkeeper on the other hand look very weak in comparison. Especially the keeper position.
I think they have a lot of talented players who seem to be decent people. England have a team worth supporting and rooting for.
And narratives used to claim it was the best didn't hold up. English pundits said la La Liga was a 2 horse race whereas anyone can win the EPL, now go back and look at how many times English teams dominated epl competition for extended periods of time.
