I have to say Owen Hargreaves is a much better co-commentator than Ratboy Neville or Clown Carragher..
21 - Leverkusen are unbeaten in their first 21 competitive matches of 2023-24 - only twice in German prof. football has a team started a season with a longer unbeaten run: Leverkusen themselves as a second division team in 78-79 (23 games) and HSV in 82-83 (24). Invincibles? pic.twitter.com/FlZFqHFirT— OptaFranz (@OptaFranz) December 6, 2023 Another game, another good result for Xabi and Leverkusen
City 4th. Love seeing these fu*ks lose. I still think they'll win the EPL somehow. I expect Arsenal and Liverpool to choke after the winter break while City will turn the heat on in Feb..
Absolutely sensational performance from Villa too. Deserved to beat them by more. 2 - Man City attempted just two shots in this match; the fewest ever by a Pep Guardiola team in a game within Europe’s big-five leagues, while the 22 shots from Aston Villa was the joint-most faced by a Guardiola side in the same period (tonight his 535th such game). Dominated. pic.twitter.com/T0gjP1ZbpZ— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) December 6, 2023
15 games.19 points.5 points from 15th.No tactics just vibes. No improvement from last season (we had 22 points at this point)Thank you for depression, but it’s time to go. pic.twitter.com/6PVdqCRpTi— Dubois (@CFCDUBois) December 6, 2023 Seems to be going well over at the Chelsea project
He's the greatest con-man convincing media, organizations and fans (many on here) that he is some savant and a great manager.
Ballsy stuff from Emery, reminded me what Inzaghi attempted vs them in the UCL Final. Some still swear by pvssyball vs City; hold them off till the 25th while managing just 13 passes then Vini and inshaAllah
Can’t remember the last time someone out-coached Pep by a wide margin. Emery made Pep look like some coach managing in the third tier of Spanish football.
Who would take that team to the top? Emery and Xabi will likely not go there. Mourinho, but I think he's past his prime and would cause a lot of problems. De Zerbi - I think that might be their answer. But at the same time, I think Poch needs more time. Half of their squad is injured.
One can be critical, of course, but "torn apart" suggests Arsenal conceded many scoring chances to Luton. That paints a very wrong picture for people that read your post who didn't watch the match. The real story was that Raya was awful and that makes it interesting to see if Arteta goes to Ramsdale for the next game or is he too stubborn to do so(?)
I’ve had that thought for years tbh. Our teams vision, passing and decision-making especially. Whenever I watch PL teams I can’t help but compare how our players deal with certain situations compared to how other teams do.
Emery is a wonderful man and coach. Nothing more unjust than people making fun of him because "he talks funny". Happy for him.
A lot of his former players, including one of ours still have nothing but great words to say about him.
And this relates to why I think ten Haag is doomed. Unted are playing pretty close to their full potential atm, and yet he is still getting bashed! What's the criticism going to be like when the team goes into a slump?
E10H had almost all his requests fulfilled last year and this year and yet I fail to see any character in his Utd. Now there is talk of unrest in the dressing room when people tried so hard to paint the picture that it was Cristiano's toxic ego ruining them. This coach is one weird ass fella, at least Poch is likeable.
Haha. No Ancelotti for Brazil, hope he’s staying in Madrid now 🚨 Ednaldo Rodrigues, the CBF president who wanted Ancelotti, has been sacked. @geglobo pic.twitter.com/bvMblIoy0g— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) December 7, 2023
Yes. They've been flirting with relegation for a few seasons now through bad administration. They kept over performing by many accounts even reaching the Libertadores final in 2020. They are in deep financial trouble. The way TV deals are done now, they will lose quite a bit of money by being relegating. Back a few years ago big/mid teams could still count on TV revenue even in Serie B so coming back was easier. They never expanded their stadium. It only fits 16k. Other clubs modernized and they have been left behind. They kept relying on sale of youth development players to float the club.
