It’s nearly impossible to defend. The ball was kicked into him bounced off and hit his arm while in stride.

    Why even play these games?

Just tell us the result you desire and save us the time we invest watching them.

That PSG penalty was criminal. Like that should be immediately investigated.

    The good thing:
If Newcastle win Milan at home, PSG must win away at Dortmund. A draw won’t be enough.
    In that case:
    Dortmund 11
    Newcastle 8
    PSG 8
Newcastle has the advantage vs PSG

It's not even that it rebounds and hits his hand

It's the inside of his damn elbow

Lol as if they would allow PSG to go out in the group stages. Al-Khealifis best purchase has been that bum Ceferin.

Also never ever trust Dortmund to come through.

I thought ball rebounding off of body is not a penalty anymore? How many times do they change the rules? Both VAR and the ref took a good look at it, how could they miss it hit his sides?

That made my blood boil for real. What the hell was that penalty? And never forget that Mbappe chose over and over to be the face of this farce. Yuck.

In the ref forum they say that rule was removed a few years ago. I don't remember it being removed and thought it was still valid. I can't keep up with it anymore to be honest. I don't know what the best solution is because there are so many different handball situations that can occur that it seems really impossible to come up with something that would be used consistently other than if it hits the hand it's a PK regardless of the situation.

It is extremely rare for a handball to actually stop a goalscoring opportunity. We often see a handball penalty when it wasn’t even close to being a big chance.

    • If the ball touches any other body part first, no penalty.
    • Give an indirect FK instead of a penalty.

Handballs are punished too severely, defenders literally play with their hands behind their backs and attackers just aim at the arms. This is just dumb.

This is the first thing that came to my mind. They are on course to buy themselves a ballon d'or via UEFA too. My guess is Mbappe stays at PSG so he can farm Ballon D'Ors bought by his Qatari paymasters.

If he stays in Paris, it is actually fine with me.

Edited: I will be happy to see him here next season, but I don't care if he stays.... we might be better off without him.

Did the keeper have one of his family members kidnapped? Is this another Tonali situation? No way this is not investigated....

Don't they have to suspend the ref too ? I mean, he had a look at it and gave the PK. It's not common for the ref to not agree with the people in the VAR room, but it does happen.

I think the referee is more at fault than the VAR team. He was the one who awarded it at the end of the day.

LOL, that's actually untrue and the espn article highlighted better why that notion was rejected.

The penalty is still bogus, but not all deflections are made equal.

Football always tries to find the easy way out and paint everything with one brush instead of trying to apply context.

"In April, the UEFA Football Board, a collection of former players and coaches which acts as an advisory body, said that deflections off the body onto the arm should not be penalised. However, this recommendation was not taken forward as it would be against IFAB guidelines of the handball law as a blanket exemption. "

Unfollow trash Twitter accounts spreading nonsense.
