Following on from the last thread - What do we think souey should do to punish Bellamy? or should he just get away with shouting his mouth off yet again, read this article (please see link) http://www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Story_Page/0,7760,1780_124773,00.html I personally wish bellamy would just keep his trap shut, i know its part of his game but it reflects bad on the club! we can do without all the bad press so we can concentrate on the important things - like... Winning football matches!!!
My guess is that a "quiet word" from Souness will impress Bellamy a lot more than another avuncular chat from dear old Bobby. Look out for a few bruises on Bellamy when he next surfaces in public!
That's what I haven't been impressed by. Souness is sinking to Beller's level by saying all of this stuff in the press. I figured we'd just see Bellers with the bruises and not hear much from Souey. But, Souness has decided to be no better by running it in the presses. This smells alot like his problems with Cole and Yorke while at Blackburn. I don't want to see Bellers shipped out for stupidly displaying his displeasure with the substitution. Both Souey and Bellers need to grow up and the whole thing should have been handled behind closed doors and not aired out in the public like Souey has decided to do. Edit: I have a hard time believing that Souey didn't run his mouth off at/to the gaffer during his playing days.
I think Souey is setting down the law, finally. Besides, someone needed to stand up to Bellers and tell him to shut his trap. But time will tell.
I am glad to see Souey laying down the law, however, I don't want that to coincide with Bellers leaving the club. Souey seems to ship out any player that he does not get along with (see Dunn, Cole, Yorke). Bellers has played well and has even played out on the right to help the club. He has said he doesn't want to leave the club, and while it was downright idiotic to say what he said, that shouldn't see him forced out of the club. I guess the two went at it on the training pitch, with Souey grabbing Bellers by the throat. Maybe they've got it out of their systems now. I think both of them need to shake hands and get back to football.
This is exactly right. Bellamy was stupid to do what he did, but filling the newspapers with the matter hasn't been the best way for Souey to operate. Today's Independent newspaper is confident that both Bellamy and Dyer will be out of Newcastle come January. http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/newcastle/story.jsp?story=574452
The media loves drama, but in truth things are settling down and ironing out. Souey and Bell should be fine. 10 to 1 he's still here come February. "I'm Sorry" says Bellamy
Last season. Bellamy always was mouthing off to the referees and getting himself booked. So everytime he was involved in an inncident. The whole of St James Park used to go. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Classic.
