I sold some cheap Adidas to a buddy and replaced them with Predator Manias ($100 shoes), but after playing with them twice have found that the arch of my feet starts burning and aching after about 20 minutes. Never had the problem before.

Ideas or suggestions on what to do? Is there a certain arch support you would recommend? Is this common with Predators.

    Thanks

maybe you are tieing your shoes too tight. I had that problem with the pulses but then i loosened it a bit and it was fine

I had this problem a lot, esp a couple of years back when I was wearing the Nike Mercurial R9. I also had this problem with the Vapors. I also don't know why this happens. However I didn't have this problem with the Predators Precision, Manias nor Pulses.

Don't think so. When I got foot cramps it hurts big time. But this sensation is different... As if the sole is being rubbed against and warms up gradually.

The sole of the new preds are constructed in a very similar fashion to some adidas boots from while ago, called Adidas Etruscos -some of you older guys will remember these from (I think) either the Mexico '86/ Italia '90 World Cup, they were launched as Adidas top of the range boot at the time and worn by many pro's. They had the 3 (plastic support) stripes travelling under the middle of the shoe, under the arch of your foot, and the support carried on up on the outside/ inside edges of your foot like the new manias.
I had a similar problem to you back in the day, although once I broke them in they became one of the most supportive, confortable boots I can remember wearing -so in short, start training in them for short periods of time, and you should be ok with them.

    Thanks for the tips.

It seems like nobody is recommending arch supports, which is kinda funny cuz that is where the burn is. It feels like a hot coal on the outside part of my arch.

Maybe I should stick to video games. :)

This usually happens to me until I get my boots broken in. Wear them either to a couple of practices and to one or two less important games unitl they stop hurting. If they're sized correctly, they should break in eventually.

UPDATE - I was told by the shoe sales guy at the soccer store that it is due to there being space between my foot and the shoe. This causes my nylon socks to create friction, and nylon heats up quickly from friction.

Solution - lace em up tight, get inserts if necessary, and wear cotton ankle socks underneath them.

    . . .to be continued. . . .

This is the solution to so many problems. If this isn't the solution it's always "wrap your ankle".

Anyhow, definitely get some arch supports. I need to do this too b/c the arches in my cleats are nowhere near high enough.

I had this problem constantly. The only solution I found was wrapping my ankles (so it would cover the back of my foot). I still have scars.

I've always had problems with my arches. I've found mainly when I'm wearing my Predators. Whether it's because I didn't break them in properly or not I don't know. I've yet to find a solution or a way of explaining why it's there. So i've just trid to carry on as much as I can and it eventually goes.

Now I've developed callouses on the insides of both of my big toes and right behind that on my feet. I've got Predators too, and thats when I noticed them. Thats probably not the best solution, but once you get that far its worth it.

It could be just b/c they don't fit you right.

    Blisters

    Guys

The reason you are getting blisters, is because there is friction between two things -your socks, and your feet.
The way to stop this is to wear two pairs of socks. That way, the friction is between the socks, so you wont get any blisters.
Obviously, if you wrap/ bandage your feet it will have the same effect although I think you are more likely for the socks to stay comfortable through 90 mins.
The best ones to wear are "lining socks" that are for walking boots, they are very thin (so you will have room for them in your boots even if they are tight), comfortable (made of wickable material that gets the moisture away from your feet) and tight (normally they come in foot sizes, rather than "one size fits all").

it could be because you have fat feet.
