In the wake of 9-11 I wanted to share this with you all: So last night, me and some pals decide to head to jay's (local bar in clarendon) and get some beers--to celebrate being alive etc etc. Kind of like a send off to the 1st anniversary of 9-11. So we get to Jay's and hear loud laughter from the patio. We walk in and see a table with ACFD (Arlington County Fire Dept) guys there. Now, in case ya don't know, ACFD was FIRST on scene at the pentagon on 9-11-01. They were also the LAST team out. So we sit down and they immediately start kinda chattin with us etc etc. Two are on duty (drinkin water) and the rest are OFF duty and chuggin. They say they felt they needed to get out after the day of 9-11 remeberence. So of course, when the waitress comes over, we immediately buy their table a round(dude, they're FIREFIGHTERS who helped save people at the pentagon!) and they are VERY appreciative. One guy starts tellin us how people have no respect for FF's and how people flick him off when he is driving the truck to a fire etc etc. We get mad at this and vow if we EVER see a guy flickin off a fire truck, we will beat his ass. So we are sittin and chattin with them and drinkin and stuff. Then one of the guys comes over and sits with us and starts tellin us about 9-11-01 at the Pentagon. It was so...AMAZING. It was like a documentary on NBC or whatev, but up close. And i think it was good for him to get it all out etc etc. So we stay at jay's, go thru a few pitchers of Yuengling and just generally try and CLENSE ourselves of the horror and tradjedy of 9-11. It was so cool. So yeah. It was a great way to remember the 1st anniversary of Sept 11. Hangin with Arlington's Bravest.
