Already one unverified rumor spread, and here's another. It's not hard to "verify" rumors of these things in today's age. There's screen shots, it's not hard. Leave this crap out of this discussion, especially when none of it is true. Just like previous comments weren't either. Absolute trash from you two.
That’s why I posted about this I’ve seen the screen shots. It’s absolutely true 100 percent. I don’t know this guy at all so would have no reason to randomly pick him out. But I know that coaches at other schools have been told by their athletes that Fraser reached out to them via personal social media and also provided pics of the messages.
Who initiated the private contacts (that are apparently no longer private)? What was the exact wording?
The head coach initiated. Basically reached out and said who he was and the school he is at, do you want to transfer D1? A little info on the school too with some links. Wonder how many kids at different schools they actually contacted but it's at least a couple. Will be interesting to see if the coaches whose players were contacted go to their compliance about it.
Let's see them then. It's so easy to be an anonymous poster throwing shade when you have nothing to hide. Dragging someone through the mud on a public forum without providing ANY evidence. Put the evidence out there. Otherwise, it's rubbish you're doing this.
Rob Ferguson the asst at Cornell will be getting the HC position. This is the new way for Ivy League...
Somewhat slightly surprised if Cornell goes that direction. Last time an Ivy hired an assistant for when the head coach departed was...Cornell. And then they went 2-9-3, 1-13-1, and 4-10-1 in those 3 years, including a horrendous 0-19-2 Ivy League record during that span. Ferguson at least has a clue and will make some strides there. Won't be difficult to improve upon that program from the last guy as he pretty much took them rock bottom.
The Ivy League is firstly fiscally responsible and secondly there are only 2 programs that seem to care about winning. Harvard and Princeton. Both Penn and Cornell could knock this out of the park but won’t.
Lord Kril can speak for himself, but I think his greater point may be that it is kind of unfortunate these Ivies don't try just a bit harder to attract coaches that have a bit stronger resumes as these are all very attractive jobs given the typical profile of today's pay-to-play youth system and the super-charged (academic) overachievers that make up a big chunk of the GDA and ECNL player pools. The current lacrosse rankings have Princeton top five, Penn in the top 20, and Dartmouth just outside the top 20. Womens hockey has three Ivies in the top ten. I've said it before, the changes in recruiting rules mean the day is coming sooner rather than later when the Ivy league gets two teams into the wsoc NCAAs. I have heard good things about both of the assistants being rumored/reported here, so I'm not throwing shade, just suggesting there are probably better recruiters that could have been had.
The number of D1 teams in women's soccer is nearing the 350 mark. D1 women's ice hockey - approx. 41 teams; D1 women's field hockey (usually a popular ivy sport) - approx. 79 teams; D1 women's lacrosse teams - approx. 116 teams. It is pretty easy to stand out in a small pond. The total amount of teams in all 3 of those big sports do not equal the current amount of teams in d1 women's soccer. And it continues to grow. Since the Ivy teams do not play as many games - less of a potential negative pull in the team vs opponent and the opponent's entire body of work and league used to rank - i am surprised two have not made it. But they haven't. Having family that played Ivy sports (not women's soccer though), i can only think that it is because their AD's really only care about beating the other Ivy teams. Getting to wear the Ivy crown, we would say. The rest of it probably doesn't matter.
Given what has happened in Ivy land the past few years (yale - 2 coaches let go; penn - former basketball coach taking money for at least one spot; harvard's entire boys soccer team suspension; rowing coach/sale of house issue; alumna IMG proctor/Singer's contact in varsity blue's...), they are probably trying to get it right. Not swinging for the fences. These BOTrustee's do not want any more bad publicity associated with sports and the Ivy schools. Donor Days are rapidly approaching.
He has contacted two top NAIA players already and different schools, he was confronted about it and blamed it on the LMU assistant? If the NAIA coaches decide to turn him in, he wont even coach a spring game,
Valid point, and it weakens my argument for sure. But I'll stand by my belief that Ivy League soccer should improve over the next several years as the recruiting field, from a timing perspective, levels out.
Haha he did it himself I've seen the messages along with a guy called Andrea who is on the LMU men's side but states in a message he is part of the coaching staff that is moving to ULM. ULM seat hot if more people come forward.
The Ivy League has taken a huge step forward. They were ranked #4 overall conference ahead of ALL mid majors and 1 P5 conference. Brown has for sure tiered WS as its the only program that has a chance to win in the athletic department.
Wait he tried to blame it on an assistant from another school? How does that work? Heck if you get caught just own it and stop giving the middle finger to ethics. Blaming an assistant from elsewhere is pretty low unless it’s actually true. probably not the first coach to contact a player from the NAIA thinking they wouldn’t get caught. Probably gonna be some type of recruiting sanctions on that program then they will move on but he will be on a tight leash with the admins. Penn really could hit a home run with this hire. It’s a highly desirable school academically and the last two head coaches have gone on to great jobs.
