Personally not a fan of the cross look. Not the mock-up--well done--just the style of the shirt. I'd love to see someone break the mold of solid, boring shirts and come out with some hoops or stripes or whatever. I'm not really big with photoshop to express this visually but I'd love to see the Celtic away top from a few years back: Stripes (green and black alternate) with gold piping on the sleeves and collar. I think that'd be class. White shorts and green or black socks. Green AND black hooped socks. Why not.
We already have AC in the name, how much more do we really what the copy from Milan. AC St. Louis won't get anywhere near stripes.
And, if they're going with green as the main color, there had better not be any hoops. I'll slap somebody if this team tries to look like Celtic.
For the record, St. Louis Scott Gallagher is a Nike Premier Club. I believe they have the largest youth club Nike contract in the US. Here is the top of the website: Athletica where's Puma because WPS has a contract with Puma. Unless NASL signs a league-wide deal, I think it is likely AC STL will go with Nike.
Didn't have AC Milan in mind at all when I threw it together, although I certainly see it. Go with white socks. I don't care. I just always loved the look of that shirt. That's just me. Heaven forbid it look like Celtic. Having a silly little Gers fan threaten violence if they do is quite funny though. Pretty sure any design you do that doesn't suck will mimic someone else's kit. This isn't a revelation either. The Nike thing was just the maker I felt like mocking. I was sorta bummed when they went with yellow. Why Athletica got the classic crest with the nice colors and ACSTL got dark green and yellow is beyond me, but I think it'll look awful if they do a solid green top, yellow shorts, green socks look, which seems to be the pattern with generic strips.
Not really unique. This is Parma FC jersey. Quite similar to the ones up here. But anyway they are really cool.
Yeah dude, those are incredible. This is one I put together and modeled after the '71 St. Louis Stars strip. Virtually the same with gold piping.
I really doubt they would feature black that prominently, since it does not appear in their logo. I would buy a "cross" jersey or a hoops. I'm not sure I like the vertical stripes with yellow and green enough to buy one, but I'd be happy with it being our away jersey.
I think once we get more people putting ideas up, we should pick a handful we like and send them to Cooper. I think he'd appreciate getting the fans perspective.
I know, that's why I said somewhat unique (oxymoron, I know). Inter Milan also had a 3rd uniform with the cross...
Club Atlético Banfield but, with the shorts and socks changed to white and a gold ring at the top of the socks(where the green on the sock is in the picture). For the road, same concept. Green base, gold stripe with green shorts and socks(gold on the top of the sock).
I like the idea of a diagonal slash because (1) it looks good and (2) it would reference the 1950 WC team and its St. Louis representation.
I like the way the green background appears on the white unis. I think it'd look better to have no background on the green shirts, as it is with he mock up with the green and black stripes.
Selling shirts doesn't have anything to do with "getting involved". Do you really think Nike would pass on selling lots of shirts because of a dispute between a new league and a league they no longer own?
