Re: AC St. Louis Scrambling to Save Team and other related news Thank you, thank you. With my knowledge of minor league sports, contracts, the money/passion of Jeff Cooper... I saw only one resolution. Aside from the WPS's decision to fold the Athletica, i was 100% spot MUTHA F'ING ON!!! To my detractors, I say: SUCK IT!
Re: AC St. Louis Scrambling to Save Team and other related news There goes the Nicolas Anelka lifeline...
Re: AC St. Louis Scrambling to Save Team and other related news Now that he signed a new contract with Chelsea
Re: AC St. Louis Scrambling to Save Team and other related news Yeah, the USSF didn't help in paying the players during the time of crisis. The shirt sponsor that you spoke highly of is here. Everything was just swimmingly well. There was no crisis whatsoever. I mean, the Athletica are still around, right? Still, I could resort to talking about the Portland Whitecaps, CVs, Jose Mourinho, Pat McBride, but I won't. Or did I just resort to talking to them? Oh well, can't wait to see the Vancouver RailHawks take on DC Atlanta in the Howard Hunt US Open Cup next week as the RailHawks unveil their new striker from Tottenham United, Thierry Kaka. Should be a blast.
Re: AC St. Louis Scrambling to Save Team and other related news Did you miss the part where I said aside from the WPS's decision to fold the Athletica? Seems to me, that everything I stated happened. As for the shirt sponsor, it would appear that's dead...it all started about 2 days before the financial stuff hit, but who knows what will happen now.
CV = resume. And yes, Floppin' Titties was on the bench. Gauchino likes it here from what the players said. Whoever didn't like it left. Hence why we don't have Kante and Nzinga anymore. But, Kante was gracious and I wish him well. Nzinga was pretty bitter, so, oh well.
From what I gather he quit. That comes straight from him too. At least that's how I understood him with the slight language barrier and me with a belly full of Wild Turkey.
yeah, Kyle and I were talking to Nzinga and Kante during halftime. They were just walking around behind the goal in street clothes. I wish them both well, but I guess they were Anelka guys. Kante said he was headed back to France, Nzinga never told me (or I blacked out). Both were very appreciative of the fans though.
I wonder how many of us remember a lot from Saturday? That was a looooong day of drinking.... I wonder where he'll head next? he's been in a LOT of countries. I'd have to think that Kante could easily be one of the really high priced guys that's not worth the money...he'll catch on in France for the upcoming season I'm sure.
Depends on who you talk to it can come out different ways. Kante didn't really talk about leaving so much as thanking the fans. Always been a great guy to chat with, in person or on Facebook. Nzinga made it seem like he quit out of spite. I'm sure the club isn't bothered about saving money on his contract either. Either way, both were good dudes...at least to me.

NASL to submit bid this week to be lone Div 2 league starting next season. If approved, it's very possible that USSF will grant waivers to teams not meeting their new guidelines. AC St.Louis is one of those teams. http://floodplainfooty.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/ussf-div-2-update-nasl-to-submit-league-bid/
Cooper Selling AC St. Louis?.....potential buyers meeting with NASL owners shortly....on the NASL Fanatic http://acstlfanatic.wordpress.com/
I doubt this. Selling a part interest, yes, but not selling the whole team. It just doesn't make sense to me. Furthermore I hope its not true. Cooper is responsible for bringing soccer to St. Louis, it would be a shame if he was no longer involved.
If he is selling the team i think he is doing what he sees is best fro the club to survive. With the NASL, USL, and MLS both not very happy with Cooper it might be better if someone else takes over the club.
