Soccer Vacations.com shows a trip to Cleveland on July 25, 2003 for an AC Milan v Glasgow Celtic match? Has anyone heard about this match being on? Ticketmaster isn't showing it yet. Please pass any info you have along.
This has been discussed elsewhere. It was supposedly announced on Celtic's web-site a few weeks ago (celticfc.net, maybe -- my registration attempts failed). I think they're both in the country this summer to play in Man. U.'s tour and decided to meet up for their own game. BTW, I live in Cleveland, and there's been absolutely no mention of this game here, either.
Must be Cleveland, Tennessee. Live just 30 miles from the lakefront, and haven't heard a thing about it to date. Prove me wrong, somebody!

Well, we finally saw something in writing last night... even if it was just a crawl across the bottom of the screen on a UHF station while the sportscaster was devoting 10 minutes to football talking head video. About all it said was "International Soccer Match at Browns' Stadium July 25th". No teams mentioned. We'll see what the Plain Dealer has, if anything, today. After tonight in Houston, I suppose more stadium orgs will jump on the bandwagon... staging internationals & maybe expecting 60,000 to show up by just opening the gates. <sigh> Shades of '67? <self-slap!> No. No. Time to get optimistic about this all. Maybe this time, they'll get it right!
apparently AC Milan has backed out on the match and Cleveland is supposedly talked to a couple other foreign teams in order to find a replacement against Celtic.... I can't remember where I heard that and don't have a link or anything.... can anyone verify?

Having an MLS team play them, while probably not the greatest thing to do, would be interesting to see. See how one of our club teams matches up with one of the best clubs in Scotland. That'd be an interesting situation.
Not enough profit in that....the real intrigue is watching two foreign sides play, and that what will draw the crwods. Well, in some rankings i just saw (ESPN, maybe?), Boca Juniors was #1 while AC Milan was #2 for all club teams in the world. I think Celtic was around 15th or so....
