As time passes, one starts to realize that no one is eternal and that is such a sad thing to see. .It will be a heartbreaking day for Inzaghi, Nesta, Gattuso, Seeedorf and Van Bommel.....Wouldn't it be cool to see them all together on another club? Too bad it won't ever happen......

    Thank you,
Is Mesbah even a football player? Watching him on the field reminds me of Ali Dia. Seriously, we can talk about how Milan would be celebrating as champions today if they hadn't let Pirlo go to Juve, but you can also say that Milan would win the scudetto if they had signed anybody except Mesbah.

I was an idiot for not realizing that this was on ESPN3, so I have to thank you a million times more. Thanks to you, I got to see Pippo Inzaghi score his last goal and say goodbye to my heroes.

the second half was so fun to watch. gattuso, seedorf, inzaghi, and zambrotta really played like young pups again. i'm happy to see our "champions" go out with a win. i can't believe super pippo scored the winner. i was almost in tears watching the guys thank the fans. it's a sad day to see them go, but it will be good to restart with some fresh blood.

Pirlo should have been in the rossonero today.

Pretty cool isn't it? You wonder what he could have done if given more of a chance?

honestly, i feel like pippo got the playing time he deserved this year. that doesn't change what he did for the club in the past or take away from how meaningful today was. i will miss his enthusiasm and professionalism. despite the lack to playing time this season, he didn't bitch and moan, and he always gave total effort.

Yeah but like Del Piero at Juve, I'm sure if he were given more minutes he would have scored important goals. Unfortunately, you can't score from the bench but you are right, its a young man's game. I guess there is no stopping father time....

I've been pretty accepting of Allegri's management, but seeing what Inzaghi can still do...
Hell after watching today's performance, Italy could do a lot worse than starting Cassano and Inzaghi in attack at the Euros. I know it won't happen.

A pipe dream but I agree that Inzaghi would score if given the minutes, even at the Euros. There is no denying Pippo as a goal scorer as he has scored 156 goals in 300 total games for Milan. That is a goal every other game which is an incredible accomplishment. Still, Toto Di Natale is still a force to be reckoned with and he also had a beautiful goal today so I think they should pick him as he deserves it more.

This was the hardest game for me to watch. I felt the tears coming in at the end when they were waving goodbye. Guys like Zambrotta, Gattuso, Nesta, Inzaghi, Seedorf, hell even add in Van Bommel. These men are champions. They aren't the one year wonder, they arent the scrubs of the team. These men could walk into any team in the world and make an impact. Obviously not now because they are old and retiring, but the level of soccer they have played for YEARS has been incredible to watch. Especially because they did it here, at Milan. We watched them play, they've been apart of the team, they were part of us. We grew to love them and sadly, the time has come for them to part ways.

I couldn't help but remember playing as a kid( Im 27 now) and playing with the heart of Gattuso. I would watch him play, and when I was on the field, I tried to emulate the passion and heart he displayed for the game. I didn't always score the prettiest goals, and sometimes it took a bunch of times, but I learned from SuperPippo that all you need is chances, and the ball to go in the back of the net to score game winners. These 2 guys were and are my favorite players to ever play. Sure, to the world and fans across they weren't the greatest players, but to me, they were. We can criticize the management of Milan and argue for them to stay more years, but to be honest, the game has caught up to them. Watching Gattuso run wild out there without the fresh legs of a 20something year old. Pippo playing with constant injuries because his body is aged. Nesta controlling the defense and playing with nothing but class, gets ran by, by younger, faster forwards. Seedorf, the leader and sometimes the biggest pain in the ass, was the most inconsistent player on pitch, but he was our Senator. Sadly, the game has caught up to them and they are no longer the players they once were. The time has come to say goodbye. We all knew it would happen, however I don't think anyone knew that we would lose so many, at one time.

So, we look forward to the future. Where does Milan go from here. I read a tweet from someone who mentioned that our " core" players, these guys, were all signed by other clubs. Nesta was around 30mil,Inzaghi 20something mil, Seedorf was a swap deal for about 28, Gattuso was around 8mil, Zambrotta was somewhere around 5/6. They were not free transfers nor were they haggled down prices. We wanted the best and we got them, for a price. Will Milan management with Gallani and Berlusconi spend the $$$ needed to rejuvenate the squad? Will they splurge on players to allow us to compete with the big clubs in Champs League while still being able to excel in the Serie A? I hope we do and this summer we will see what they do. Until than, lets remember the careers of these LEGENDS. Surely, just because these guys are moving on, we will always remember the spirit they instilled and the passion and the heart, something all of us Milanista's will hold with us forever.

And lastly, if you are still reading,I just wanted to mention the game. Can you imagine a more story book ending? Seedorf was on par with a wonderful game. He dictacted the mifield, connected with Ibra and Cassano and provided the assist to Pippo. Pippos goal was, well it was an Inzaghi goal. Long ball, perfect control, right past the keeper. A career like that, there was no way that we didn't see that celebration one last time. How about Zambrotta, the man ran up and down the right side like he was back in the 06 national team in Germany. He looked dangerous and didnt stop all game. But lastly,Gattuso. He ran the entire 90minutes with no signs of stopping. He tackled with ease and precision, he snarled at anything that came his way, he was the Pitbull of old. How fitting was it that the last play of the game, before the final whistle had blown, was a Gennaro Gattuso slide tackle. Can you imagine a more story book ending? Thank you to these guys for the lessons you've taught, the memories you have given, and the idols I looked up to. May you have reached others, the way you reached me. Forza Milan!

Sadness and depression just hit me. No words of what these guys did for our team all these years. When Pirlo left I was saddened, but this is just an empty feeling - what is this team without Clarence, Pippo, Rino, Sandro? I know all things must change, but this is just very hard.

    Grazie Ragazzi!
