Not sure why you can't start a new thread, ProfZodiac....your yellow is gone, try it again. Aslo, I am assuming you are referring to Rivaldo, not Ronaldo (who is with Real Madrid)....I could find no mention of Rivaldo being out on the AC Milan website http://www.acmilan.com/index2.asp ...but perhaps he has pulled a hamstring or something while again practicing his trademark simulations of serious injury while being struck in the shin by a soccer ball. Preview should be up on UEFA.com later today.
Believe it or not, with the yellow that I had up until today (thanks again) I couldn't edit posts that I had already posted. I made the mistake of thinking Ronaldo was on Milan, and by the time I figured it out (about 15 seconds later...) I couldn't do anything about it. Either way, Loko DOES play Real, so it still would affect the result, and indirectly, whether or not Loko advances any further in the Champion's League. So, game time tomorrow. D'you know if uefa.com is giving any kind of a live feed? I'd like to watch Loko dismantle Milan. And then I'd laugh. Prof
Thye will have a match tracker on UEFA.com, but I think for any and all UEFA CL audio feeds, you have to join their service...if the match is being broadcast at all. Will have to check the Russian language sites tonight when I get home.
http://www.uefa.com/competitions/UCL/FixturesResults/Round=1637/Match=1038247/index.html UEFA's match preview. Milan will not have the use of Sheva, who is out from an injury picked up vs. Lazio...but with Rivaldo, Inghazi, & Tomasson available, Milan has no shortages of firepower up front. Loko without Oboriah & Yevseev. Wonder if we'll see Winston Parks in action tomorrow...
Milan's projected lineup: 12 Dida 3 Maldini 8 Gattuso 9 Inzaghi 10 Rui Costa 11 Rivaldo 13 Nesta 15 Tomasson 19 Costacurta 21 Pirlo 32 Brocchi Bench: 1 Fiori 5 Redondo 14 Šimic 20 Seedorf 24 Laursen 27 Serginho 33 Leonardo
Loko's lineup: Lokomotiv 1 Ovchinnikov 2 Nizhegorodov 4 Lekcetho 5 Ignashevitch 8 Maminov 10 Loskov 14 Pachinine 15 Buznikin 17 Sennikov 18 Obradovic 25 Pimenov Bench: 50 Zakhartchyuk 3 Drozdov 6 Sirkhayev 7 Izmailov 19 Vucicevic 21 Mnguni 52 Parks Shurik, if you are around....how is Izmailov's condition these days?? Still recovering?
Alright, so 11 minutes into the game, and no score. Loko's had the vast majority of chances, but just attempted a very risky backheel to Ovchinnikov, following a Milan attack. It took until the 8th minute for there to be a shot on goal. Loko is sounding good, based on what uefa.com is writing at their match tracker. Catch this post before about 4:15 EST, and come watch: http://www.uefa.com/live/competitions/UCL/matchcentre/matchday=9/day=2/match=1038247/popup.html More to follow, probably every ten minutes or so. Prof
Loko's Obradovic with a yellow in the 23rd minute. 25' Pimenov controls a high ball in the Milan area and tees up Maminov, whose thunderous drive is blocked.
Okay, 27th minute. Seems like uefa.com is gonna cave under the pressure. ***edited by moderator***. OK, this time around, it's Milan who's had the lion's share of chances. As a result of possible frustration, Loko's Obradovic has received a yellow card caution. It doesn't say why. Mamimov had a "thunderous drive" that was blocked, unfortunately, by Dida, who's under some serious pressure as the game wears on. Next report: halftime. Prof mod note: be careful with score lines or highlights from other games, Prof. Same rules apply.
Half-time. No score. OK, Rui Costa's had a lot of chances. Ovchinnikov will probably have his work cut out for him in the second 45. Rivaldo's been quiet, up until now. Maldini's starting to heat up; he manages to beat two Loko defenders at once. Halftime stats, courtesy of uefa.com: LOKO MILAN SOGs: 2 5 Fouls: 6 5 Corners: 0 2 Offsides: 0 3 A Loko win combined with a Madrid win will put Loko and Madrid into a tie for second in the group, obviously pending the second half of the group results, especially the Loko-Real rematch in 2 weeks. Izmailov is benched at the moment. Perhaps he will get in during the second half. Next report, 60th minute. Prof
Best just to leave that stuff out completely, Prof. It may sound silly at times, but you'd be surprised at how militant some (not the majority) can get about that kind of thing. 0:0 at half. Starting out a lot like the gamve vs. Madrid....Milan with a lot of chances and the run of play, but the staunch Loko defense effectively locking it down in back & playing for the counter.
Doesn't sound like Ovchinnikov has had much to do, save for a couple routine stops. Come on Loko! Come on Basel!
I discovered I misspoke earlier. Izmailov just <b> came out </b>, not in. Uefa.com's got their stuff kind of weird, but whatever. TrooperBari, I hope that becomes the case in the second half, but I'm not sure. Do you have the link to the live commentary? Prof
It appears that Izamilov has come in for Buznikin ; either that or Izmailov started & was listed incorrectly on UEFA Web, and Buznikin has actually come in for him to start teh 2nd half.
No live commentary here, just the uefa.com panel show. Most of the reports from the San Siro were saying that Milan has had most of the ball, but really didn't put Ovchinnikov under too much pressure. Live audio would be nice, but I'm not real high on paying for it.
http://live.sport-express.ru/ Sport-express matchtracker says that Izmailov stated the game on the bench & came in to start the 2nd half.
Delete this if I can't say it, but in the other games, there are some very Loko-friendly results going on. Nothing further to be disclosed. Here's hoping I'm not out of line... Prof
58th minute, still scoreless. Sounds like Milan is throwing a lot of people forward in an attempt to break the deadlock, and the home crowd is getting restless. I can't say what else I really want to say, as I don't believe in "knock on wood" mode
My 60th minute report. Uefa.com ready to give. Last comment on board at least 5 minutes ago. Milan starting to get frustrated. Maybe this will cause some costly mistakes? There's no "saves" statistic, but I'd imagine it'd be pretty low for Ovchinnikov. Most of Milan's shots have been off-target. The live points grid there isn't helping Loko's cause. C'mon Railwaymen! Prof
With the goal, Serginho makes hi long awaited retun, coming in for Rui Costa. Not bad news if you're for Loko, Rui Costa seemingly has been one of teh standouts for Milan. Not too late for an equalizer. Remember what happened in Madrid.
Not looking good. Long, random shots coming out of Maminov. Loko needs to settle down. 25 minutes remain: use them. Next report: 80 minutes. Prof
