    Let's start this right now...........

Now that we're the best team on earth, we are allowed to imagine what our team might look like this fall.

    I'll go with a 4-4-2

    Rivaldo Inzaghi

    Rui Costa

    Seedorf Beckham
    Pirlo

    Kaladze Maldini Nesta Cafu

    Dida

Shev should be there instead of either Rivaldo or Inzaghi. Gattuso for beckham. Totti for Costa.

In all likelyhood it will be:

    --------Inzaghi Sheva
    -------Rivaldo Rui Costa
    -----------------------
    ---------Pirlo Gattuso
    --Kaladze Maldini Nesta Cafu
    -------------Dida

But, if Milan buy another great defender, enabling them to play with just 3 at the back then hypothetically it could be:

    --------Inzaghi Sheva
    -------Rivaldo -- Rui Costa
    ---Seedorf -- Pirlo -- Gattuso
    -------Maldini Nesta ???
    -----------Dida

In this formation Ambrosini or Serginho could substitute Seedorf depending on the attacking or defensive nature needed. Gattuso would be fielded because of his running, which would drop Cafu to the bench. Of course Pirlo could be subbed by either Gattuso or Ambrosini and Cafu would play wide right if need be. The third central defender would be Roque Junior out of the players currently available, but I think a Stam or Chivu (fantasy) would be preferred.

If Milan buy Beckham, which IMO is fantasy, then it could hypothetically be:

    -------- Inzaghi Sheva
    -- Rivaldo - Rui Costa - Beckham
    ------------ Pirlo
    --Kaladze Maldini Nesta Cafu
    ------------ Dida

Beckham would force either Pirlo or Gattuso on the bench, which, if it were Rino would mean a 4 man defense would be needed to cover behind him. Cafu would play there, but defensively he is still suspect.

All these lineups are assuming that Rivaldo will still be with Milan and that he will be back on form.

Dida? I think he's good. But Abiatti will reestablish himself during the off season. I also think that Simic will step forward and show why we bought him last year.

I think Maldini's brilliant display this term was due to his playing in the center of the defense. It would be bad to out him back on hte left.

I think as it stands right now not much will change in our lineup next year. Cafu will be the only addition who will start.

This lineup is the same lineup that played in the CL final with Cafu replacing Costacurta the only exception:

    --------------------Dida-------------------
    Cafu-----Nesta-----------Maldini----Kaladze
    --------Gattuso---Pirlo----Seedorf---------
    -------------------Rui---------------------
    ------------Sheva-------Pippo-------------

Of course if Milan buys Beckham(a total waste of money, imo) or Totti(A dream come true :) ) then that will change everything. Although, if we buy Beckham I don't think he could crack the starting eleven, so it won't change that much ;)

I'm just counting the days until Rivaldo leaves, it's inevitable. I'd be shocked if he was still with Milan next year.

We also have some players coming back from loan that will either be squad players or be sold(Coloccini, Donati, Borriello, Albertini, Jose Mari, Javi Moreno, Kutuzov)

Coloccini, Jose Mari, Albertini and Javi Moreno are gone. They either don't want to come back or aren't good enough to compete for a place. Coloccini would be a nice addition but he wants to play, which is understandable.

Rivaldo isn't going anywhere, Rui Costa was pretty crap his first season too and this year came back with something to prove.

Rivaldo is staying, hell everyone is staying. Sure he had a crappy year, but most playmakers do when moving to Italy. Zidane had a pretty tough 1st year too if I remember correctly.

Cafu has signed so that's solved the right back problem. Jose Mari is comming back, but we''ll loan him out or sell him to someone. I don't think we'll sign a forward. Sheva, Inzaghi, Tomasson, Rivaldo, & Boriello are plenty.

That pretty much leave us with the midfield and I could see us getting a right sided player. Since Silvio said we'd have a big signing, I would guess Figo (if Beckham goes to Madrid) or Kaka via the Leonardo connection. Since we haven't gotten any of these guys yet though my starting 11 would be

    Dida
    Cafu-Nesta-Maldini-Kaladze
    Gattuso-Pirlo-Seedorf
    Rui Costa
    Sheva-Inzaghi
