First off, the Galaxy in white? I thought we had moved away from that. I don't like the white kits at all. What was wrong with the yellow or green kits?

Next, what's with the "Columbus Crew" across the front chest of the Crew shirt? I think it adds a bit of flavor to it, but if they put it on the yellow kit, like the picture on www.mlsgear.com, there will be problems.

Last, I guess we were tricked with the "primary/secondary" method of jerseys. Looks like it will be home/away (aka color/white) again...

I agree. The Columbus jerseys were some of my favorite uniforms I've ever seen period.

I thought the Galaxy were going to wear gold kits and green kits this year. What happened to the green kits? Why couldn't the Crew have worn yellow and the Galaxy wore green? BTW, I will say I liked the Crew black shirts with the name on the front.

Why didn't any of the Galaxy choose to wear long sleeves? The announcers kept saying how cold it was.

Maybe Nike didn't provide LA with road white long sleeves....

I like the small MLS logo on the bottom of the numbers on the back of the uniforms. I don't care if we copied that from the EPL.

LA looks so much better than any of their previous jersies. When they showed highlights from MLS Cup 2002 and I saw LA's old uniforms I got the dry heaves.

Columbus looked great. I love Columbus Crew on the front of their jersey. If they just moved the Addidas logo to the middle and drop the "Crew" crest all together I would put their kit up against any other kit in the world.

Despite there being an all-white road kit for the Girlies (a tediously overdone thing in MLS), I thought both strips looked fine.

I was also scratching my head over that.

    1. I agree. This number/letter set is so much better than those terrible adidas numbers.

    2. I agree. The old LA unis sucked and these are good.

    3. A new crest would be better than no crest.

no doubt, it was fvcking freezing cold out there...i had on two shirts and a jacket and i was cold as well.

i cannot imagine playing in short sleeves in that weather regardless of how much running i was doing.

My son's first two comments on the game:

    1) Finally! American soccer!

    2) Those Galaxy uniforms are ugly...

Those Crew uniforms look great. I definitely prefer uniforms with logos to those without. And, I think the Crew logo looks cool.

LA's uniforms looked fine, but I'd have preferred to see them wear their gold uniforms. For the life of me I just do not know why they don't do it. It sure seems like the vast majority of people want to get away from the "white road" uniforms.

Standardizing MLS numbering/lettering fonts is good, but I'm definitely not a fan of having the logo in the numbers. It just looks totally cheese whiz to me. Yeah, I feel the same way about the EPL Barclayard logos and all the ridiculous advertisements on many teams. One or two, OK, but when the team has like 5 or 6, it just looks comical to me ... like a clown

i actually thought the galaxy unis were alright. At first I was like, WHAT? but I think that's mostly because they are different from what I'm used to seeing the Galaxy wear.

I liked both teams uniforms, but I wish teams would get away from the monochromatic, especially the all white road uniforms.

One thing that we consistantly hear about why both teams don't wear their colors instead of color vs. white is that the TV channels that broadcast the game use black and white monitors in their trucks and such, making it hard to tell the difference between the two teams. Although today if the Crew wore their black and the Galaxy wore their yellow, this shouldn't have been a problem.

you mean the couple people on the BS boards that keep on moaning about it!? please i don't care... if anything thats how i think the sport should go. i'm american and i'm used to away always being white... or home, some sports are differen't. but i guess it would be cool to no have the away white kits... i'm already getting bored of the G's whites cuz i wanna see the gold in action and i won't be able to till june!

i don't mind it, i can live with it continuing... its just a color and a kit design. it matters not! though i guess for the sake of diversity getting rid of whites would be cool.

No kidding--can we find anything else to bitch about re this game? I thought as a whole it was a pretty good game and a pretty good broadcast. Both jerseys looked good. Man--do we have to hate everything?

LA's white jerseys look better than the yellow ones. It still doesn't beat last year's white jersey though. There were rumors of a green jersey being the third alternate.

Personally I thought the GaLAxy unis were tight. The sash reminding me of River Plate. I'm just glad Nike didn't change all the MLS uni's to the sash-type...I was unhappy that both Adidas and Nike conformed national team jerseys at the World Cup.

The only beef I have over the G's colors is that the logo still is teal, the website still has teal, and all G's graphics on TV were in teal. Everything should be switched to the dark green, I don't want them to be like UCLA, who have 3 different shades of blue.

I must be the only one who wasn't crazy about seeing "Columbus Crew" emblazoned across the jersey. I've always liked the fact that the Crew and DC just used their logo/crest. That was one aspect of the white galaxy jersey that I did think was better. I could live with it though as the new Crew jersey did look good.
