Went to see this today. What a fantastic movie. I think this is the best acting job Jack Nicholson has ever done. If he doesn't win the Ocsar for best actor, it would be a crime.

I recommend that everyone go see this. It is incredible.

I saw it last night w/the wife and some friends. It was not what we were expecting. The trailers for the movie painted it as some laff-riot, but that it defintely wasn't. I didn't mind the serious tone of the movie, and Nicholson was good, but the whole picture was just missing something that I can't put my finger on.

Hmm, I thought it was perfect. It was funny, sad, disgusting, uplifting, et al, like real life.

I pretty much knew what to expect, but I admit that a lot in the movie surprised me.

This kinda bugged me. It presented itself as something else.

Well, every review I've read, and all the original promo stuff, implied that the movie had a darker, more downbeat side, so I'm prepared. Hopefully, the wife and I can get to it this week.

Thanks for this post. I've read two reviews which were generally negative. So I'll pick this up when its out on DVD.

I thought it was horrible. I thought the movie was condescending and demeaning to its characters. I enjoyed Nicholson's performace a great deal, though.

I expected much more from Alexander Payne, whose 'Election' was great satire. But this movie was way off the mark. The whole thing seemed to be an exercise in looking down on the people that populate the middle.
