He's still a very solid player, it's a good move by the Galaxy. I wish him the best of luck.

As long as he stays away from the drug scene in LA , he should do well.

Didn't spice-boy sign with LA, that should make them countenders for the title. Oh well at least on paper.

Abel Xavier is a sports ambassador.
He didnt do illegal drugs. He was caught with excess of a legally-prescribed medication he was taking for a disorder he have.

He is a great guy and an excellent professional player ... he is 34 yrs old and still fit as a 20 yr old.

He will do well in LA and will definetly make Portuguese proud.

Abel will be famous in LA and i bet you ... Cameron Diaz will be knocking on his door soon.

The only thing I will disagree with is if he was still fit like a 20 yr old, he wouldn't be coming to MLS.

He is in great shape for a 34 yr old, but let's not exaggerate. If he was in any better shape he would still be at a top club.

This makes him the first Portuguese international to play in the MLS.

Do not forget that Abel Xavier is a smart guy and your perception is incorrect.

He didnt pick MLS cause he cant play in EPL. Abel was a starter at Middlesborough and less than 2 months ago was Man Of The Match vs Man Utd. He refused to sign a 2 yr contract with Boro.

He didnt decided to move to MLS ... i decided to move to LA Galaxy to play alongside Beckham and to take advantage of all the publicity Galaxy will get.

Abel is following his plan that will lead him to Hollywood ... This is a smart guy far from the usual soccer head.

Follow him closely and than tell me about his ... age.

My "perception" is that he is 34 yrs old...

And what kind of a career decision is that...he comes to play for the Galaxy to be near Hollywood!?! Is he a futebol player or an actor...

If he is an actor then go audition for a movie and leave the soccer for "players":D

Galaxy v. Chelsea.....Xavier hit a gorgeous header well defended by Cech.

Xavier looks great today. What a class act!

Xavier was also a contender for MotM against Pachuca, but it was rightfully given to the more deserving Joe Cannon. All the same, what a brilliant signing he has turned out to be for them.

So far Xavier is the best player at the Galaxy. Beckham makes me laugh. Americans still think he is good.

Injury my ass...the MLS is not Spain and a few minutes a game is not going to kill him, maybe kill his USA wanabe celebrity dream once Americans see how average this guy is. :D

I'll finally get to see Xavier play for the first time with the Galaxy this Sunday against Toronto. Maybe he can talk some more guys to come over and give the MLS a try.:)
