It was probably Jim Rose. Jim Rose has always been good to the team.

Saw on FSW that Jim Rose was interviewing Chris Armas directly after he scored the game winner.

I believe Jim Rose covered the FIRE IN Pasadena when they won the 98 cup. I remember thinking he generally seemed please to be there and seemed to enjoy the experience.

Local ABC Sports + Plug = No Coincidence

It's great that he's pumping Sunday's match and the Fire but don't forget his employer (an ABC affiliate) is televising MLS Cup and the Bears are on a competing network, so the plug smacks of attempted ratings boost more than anything else. Better than no coverage or mention at all but I'll keep my enthusiam tempered until the other stations start giving the same sort of coverage.

    but . . .

I do give Jim Rose props for at least being enthusiastic about doing his part to boost ratings and not giving the Fire/MLS Cup a backhanded compliment (or straight out slap) like so many sports journalists (TV or print) do when forced to cover soccer.

Yeah, I saw Jim Rose on the sidelines near the end/after the game.

If you haven't seen it yet, the two goals from the 2nd game against DC are up on the Fire site and a short video with the team celebrating with the Conference trophy.

I'm still waiting for a video of Armas putting that goal away against NE.

When are they going to put up the goal videos for the Conference finals at MLS.com?
