Seven years later, this still makes for a good way to spend 1:52 of my life. Feel free to bookmark it for the next time you need a little lift...say when you've gotten food poisoning from the taco truck, made the mistake of examining your retirement account lately, or are questioning the wisdom of spending your unemployment check on a ticket to Columbus.

    See you there.

Yea, and I think he calls them the "The Kids from C. Hill." The dude's a real dork and really ruins any coolness that there ever was with this vid. Someone should have edited that reporter out.

Here's another vid I recall seeing a few years back. Lots of familiar faces. It's been fun watching these guys over the years, especially against Mexico.

  12. If I played in one of these games I think I would get a red card for sure... It must be hard for guys on both sides to keep their composure. Are there two teams out there who beat the crap out of each other as much as we do? CONCACAF refs let a lot go. It is ridiculous. MLS referees are the same way. If we had a UEFA crew for one of these games it would probably be 8v8 by the time the game ended. I think having crap refs makes us get a bad reputation for being thugs, as well as making it harder to adjust to the reffing in World Cups, which are some contributing factors into why we always seem to get screwed there.

Both of these videos ARE awesome though. I don't think the younger guys have quite as much bad blood either, though I could be wrong. El Tri don't seem to like Donovan very much, but there will never be another Cobi Jones. I don't remember the exact game, but they went Deliverance on him for like five seconds. It was crazy. I wasn't sure what I had seen. It was waaaay more disturbing than the Rafa headbutt. Anyone else remember?

When the FIFA ref did preside, he threw two Mexicans out in 2002.

But the matches overall became far more professional since the mid-late 90's.

Back then, a lot of the US players were pretty naive about where one can and can't commit a hard foul and the Mexicans were instigating stuff when they knew they could get away with it.

They have much more respect for the US by this time and, with the bulk of El Tri playing in Europe (although Galindo and Pardo just returned), they've become less whiny and foolish.

    Don't watch many USA-Mex games?

The sniveling bitch factor remains undiminished. They don't come with tighter panties than Marquez and Sanchez.

The outlier here is the US. I have seen Marquez play for Barcelona and Dirty Sanchez for Santos. Nothing dirty about htem. BUt when they play against the US, they will eventually lose it.
