Ele esta jogando para o ortinho.

    :D

Seriously, though, he's hasn't been doing good for quite a while now. Hence why Getafe weren't hesitant to let him return to Boca a year ago, and why Boca's coach just recently relegated him from his starting position.

Out of curiosity, who is your team's starting keeper and is he underperforming? I remember two months ago Inter inquired for River's sub goalkeeper (Juan Ojeda), but the negotiations fell. What's up with the search for a GK?

We had the same old goalie (Clemer) for almost a decade and he was ok. Inter won a Libertadores and Mundial with him as goalie. Then we had a kid on the works from the youth team to take his place. The kid turned out to be too good (Renan, Brasil u20 and now Valencia goalie) and he was sold to Europe. Then all of sudden we had nobody. They got the current goalie that has bench from a Sao Paulo 2nd league team (Ponte Preta) so people are not happy with going to Libertadores with a goalie that doesn't have much experience. That's when the search led to Pato. So the deal may be that he's past his prime. So this thing may backfire on us. Time will tell.

El Pato is easily three years past his expiration date. What little skills he had held on to are definitely gone. He's been really dodgy and two steps slow for us for a while now and not having an effective defense exploits this. At this point in his career he is nothing more than a quality third keeper. At one time fantastic but not any more.

Yeah hermano... I hear you, that is what I was afraid of. It was a bad move on our side. But then again. We have an goalie that doesn't have much experience so people are banking on Pato's experience playing libertadores to get us the Copa. Also the defense is somewhat strong so that may make up for his downfall. Time will tell.

    Thanks for the info fellas.

He'd be a good mentor due to his vast experience which is good and for spot starts with a good defense then he may be a good short term fill but I don't see him as an everyday player anymore. Class human being for sure.

He'll do fine here, D'alessandro and Guinazu will show him the ropes. The city isn't bad and he's making twice as much $ than he was making playing for Boca. So the motivation will be there.

Guinazu is a fantastic player and D'allesandro is talented as hell just a bit whacko. What's his current status with the team right now? The only motivation El Pato needs is because he's a class professional with a fantastic attitude, a leader of sorts. As long as the defense doesn't allow him to be exposed he could be very solid for you. Take care of him, he's one of our favorites.
