Snip: Late last week, Stanese and his family completed the details on a contract with FC Nuremberg – a member of Germany’s top-tier “Bundesliga” – in a move that could prove as meaningful as former FGCU pitcher Chris Sale’s rise to prominence with the Chicago White Sox last year....Stanese, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound American-born Canadian with dual citizenship, was a member of the MLS’s Vancouver White Caps organization but bypassed a professional contract last summer to play for FGCU.http://www.news-press.com/article/2...freshman-signs-Germany-s-top-tier-Bundesliga- College bio: http://www.fgcuathletics.com/msoccer/roster/2012-13/2842/daniel-stanese/ 'Caps say he's a '94 born in New York. http://club.whitecapsfc.com/pdl/roster/players/daniel_stanese.aspx He's a defender. Stanese is taking part in preseason training with FC Augsburg II. He played in 17 games (15 starts) for Augsburg II in the Regionalliga Bayern. He kicked up 2 yellow cards and 1 red. Augsburg II have a friendly against Stuttgart II tomorrow. Their 2014/2015 Regionalliga Bayern campaign starts July 12th. FC Augsburg II finished 4th in the 2013/2014 Regionalliga Bayern.
FC Augsburg II opened Regionalliga Bayern play yesterday with a 3-0 road loss to FV Illertissen. Stanese went the distance for FC Augsburg II in central defense.
He was recently interviewed about his time in Germany & at Canada camps http://www.fgcueaglesnest.com/2014/08/fgcu-soccer-daniel-stanese-canada-augsburg.html
"We [Canada] want to go so badly to Russia. We have to wait and see how the team comes together," Stanese said excitedly of the 2018 World Cup. "I'm pretty sure we have a really good shot this time." After watching the United States rally around a USMNT team that attained previously unseen success in this summer's World Cup, Stanese's motivation only grew. "The USA did amazing and I was cheering for them in the World Cup. I got bummed out that they got kicked out." Stanese avoids a tackle during 2011 U-17 World Cup
So I take it he's unwilling to consider jumping ship at this point? Cause you would think he'd be slightly more talked about, no? Maybe I'm just missing something. - eligible for Olympic squad ( as far I can see he's only cap-tied at U18 and U20) - Can play CB, CDM and RB - Getting regular time for Augsburg II and very close to getting officially cap-tied to Canada
Just confirming that he's no longer with the club: Maik Uhde, Daniel Stanese, Gabriel Önat, Joshua Busching, Yannik Oettl, David Spies, Niklas Künzel und Orkun Tugbay haben den Verein nach der vergangenen Spielzeit verlassen. Don't know if he's landed anywhere yet. http://www.stadtzeitung.de/augsburg-city/sport/fc-augsburg-saisonstart-fuer-die-u23-d12585.html
Stanese has had an interesting year and a promising last month. His time at Augsburg ended. He started the season riding pine with a team in Romania. Things looked pretty bad until the team, IIRC, ran into financial problems and Stanese was released. This time he got picked up by VfR Aalen, playing currently in the German third tier. His first few months there saw mostly a scattering of one-minute appearances. Then at the start of March, he got his chance to start and has made the most of it. He's started the last five games with one goal and two assists, playing defensive midfield. I know for three of them, Kicker gave him ratings of 3, 3, and 2. Aalen sits fifth in the third tier right now, only 3 points behind the second-place team.
Aalen will get 9 points deducted at the end of the season for entering insolvency, so de facto they are 15th.
Started and picked up an assist in the 3.Liga with Aalen today. They defeated Hallescher 2-1. @bungadiri Americanuck in Baden-Württemberg: Daniel Stanese at VfR Aalen
He apparently signed with third-division Carl-Zeiss Jena back in Jenauary. https://www.fc-carlzeiss-jena.de/ne...-dienste-von-defensivmann-daniel-stanese.html
He seems to have returned to Aalen and last month extended his contract. I guess you could say he's very committed to the club or, as you might say, Aalen. https://www.vfr-aalen.de/aktuelles/...el/daniel-stanese-verlaengert-seinen-vertrag/
