KBS1 will have one of the matches today at 3pm Korean time.... I assume it'll be Yokohama vs. Seongnam.
Ahn Jeong-hwan scores for Yokohama in the 2nd or 3rd minute, but it's (incorrectly) called offside. Harry (recently signed as free-agent from Busan) and Kim Do-hun both playing for Seongnam. Harry seems a bit rusty, being roughed-up by the Yokohama midfield. The stadium is virtually empty!!! A half-dozen Seongnam supporters, a couple 2 or 3 dozen Yokohama supporters in attendance.
Kim Do-hun with a shot saved in the 8th minute. Seongnam with new kits: new sponsor (in a very ugly Hanja font), plus blue and white on the sides. Harry just nailed Ahn Jeong-hwan for a foul in the 9th minute. Won't be able to do commentary all match, so others feel free to join in.
About a dozen Seongnam supporters there now.... unique camera angles by KBS to make it look like the supporters fill a stand.... Good defending by Yokohama to prevent a goal by a Seongnam lad closing in.
Yokohama playing a direct game, Seongnam with lots of fancy stuff in the midfield, but still 0-0. Harry seems to be in midfield, his old favourite position (he played as a striker under Porterfield with Busan in 2003).
Seongnam's keeper is OLD... I assume there #1 is being saved for Asian Champions League duty. Adamar (sp?) also playing for Seongnam.... he's the only guy on the pitch willing to do a slide tackle. Looks like several dozen Seongnam supporters there now, finally with a banner unfurled. Harry needlessly shoves a Yokohama player waiting to do a throw-in....
Kim Do-hun and a Yokohama player go in for a ball, and Kim goes in with a Cantona-esque karate-kick... foul for Yokohama. 25th minute, still 0-0.
Kim Do-hun fed a ball, but Yokohama 'keeper collects just in time. Damn, Seongnam's new uniforms really are ugly. Very C-League in colour....
Possession thus far: 51% Yokohama, 49% Seongnam. Yokohama free-kick punched away by Seongnam's leeper. Seongnam lad goes down in the box looking for a penalty after colliding with a Yokohama player, but refs waves on play.
Adamar goes down like he's dead, hit by stray fingers (sp?) during a collision. Off to burn a CD... later, folks.
Adamar with Seongnam's second, Shin Tae-yeong scores Seongnam's third. Ahn Jeong-hwan subbed off around 38th minute in 2nd half. 3-0 Seongnam, just a few minutes left.
Game over. The K-League champs Sungnam wins the first game 3-0 over the J-League champs Yokohama. Sungnam's uniform is ugly. Ugly.
The Inter Shenhua match was brutal. Truckloads of leg breaker tackles and Qi Hong got hit on the head by a water bottle. The atmosphere was awesome, man i love local derbies. It finished 1-1. Ah You scored for Inter and Zheng Kewei scored for Shenhua. This match was so much better than the K-J match.
thx for the clip, woorijim. Why is the attendance so poor in the Yokohama - Seongnam match? Like Shenhua said, the atmosphere in the Shanghai derby was great.
Chinese only cheer for fellow Chinese? Actually, its true they will support Chinese sports teams no matter how bad they are losing. I guess its good for China's soccer teams though, as the support may help them to win some day.
