I could be mistaken, but didn't someone post that there was a rumor that Tribe was back together and working on new material. Anyone else heard this? Is it true or nonsense?

    I haven't heard anything

Although I hope it's not true. With the crap fest that was "The Love Movement" and the way Tip has whored himself out on his solo records, I have a feeling that it would just further my disappointment in them.

Well I hope it's true and I hope they've got all that behind them. Anything resembling Marauders or Beats and I'll be happy. I think that's why they split in the first place though(different agendas, directions)

I heard "Kamaal the Abstract" is going to be more Tribe-like. Unfortunately, that's all I've heard of it.

true story: back when i was in college at syracuse, tribe played a show there. i didn't attend, but later that night i decided to get a slice of pizza. i heard some noise behind me in line, so i turned around and q-tip was right behind me. i said, "hey q, if you don't have your wallet, i can lend you some cash." he didn't find it as funny as i did.

Yeah, that's definitely the rumor that's going around. Supposedly ?uestlove (the drummer for the Roots) mentioned it on okayplayer.com. I'm not exactly counting on it though.

hehe, Q-tip was in the record store I used to work at in Dallas once, and he was so stoned that all he could remember that he was looking for was "rock records".

    Nice guy, though.

I was at that show...it was Block Party correct? They were fantastic.

Hope the rumor is true as well.

maybe he left his sense of humor in El Segundo.

Back to the old school Tribe, good. New Tribe sounding like another crap hip hop pop act (puffy, nelly, etc), no sanks.

    Nicely done.

"Scenario" is one of their more poppier tracks but it still gets my ass out of the seat. "Electric Relaxation" and "Award Tour" are on heavy rotation on my hard drive.

Yeah, the news is true. They cut 7 new tracks together in July, plan on a few more shortly, and are shooting for a Spring '03 release date.

The Low End Theory is in my car's changer right now. I really groove on "Jazz (We've Got)".

I hope to hell it's true. Yes, they may not be able to live up to their past but if they can put out only one kick ass track it will be better than not having them putting out music in the first place. I'd love to see them live just one more time.

    Extrawack is always down.

Now I'm off to meet Clipse, Slick Rick, and Metroflip at Flex's crib...I'm supposed to bring the Courvoisier.

"Butter" (not no Parkay, not no margarine, just butter, just simplely butter baby) and "Check the Rhyme" are my favorites in that one.
Midnight Marauder was definitely my favorite.

Give a shout out to Busta while your there. :D
