They must've signed something super restrictive with that guy then, because the laws governing live performance of copyrighted material differ vastly from the laws governing recording copyrighted material. (Sorry for that little rant, I got into it big time with some folks from BMI & ASCAP a few years ago!)
So do you know anyone with lips just like Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart's hair, and Keith Richards' stagger?
october 14th it is then. another trip to effin columbus since nobody comes through indy except wasp anymore.
Ain't that the truth. Just FYI -- They're also going to be at the Metro in Chicago on 9/11, but there probably aren't any tix left. I'm going to check into going to the Metro show because I'd really love to see them.
I'm on a serious mid-90's kick right now. It seems that I have rediscovered Weezer's Blue Album. Well, rediscovered is probably the wrong word, since I never really discovered them until this week.
thats why i was so bummed i didn't see elefant and ambulance when they were here. though marah is coming back through sept 3 at birdy's. thats gonna be a fantastic show again. i have had only one good experience at the metro. i always choose columbus over chicago if its a choice between the two for concerts. metro is a good venue, but it always feels like they oversold it by about 500 people.
yea, but since the Spirit is finding new heights in which to soar, the old wounds become less important, and in the end fade away altogether. interesting that.
I'm hoping that's a good thing. I just a read long profile of her in the New Yorker, which was pretty good. It talked a lot about the new album, and how she was basing it on ... OH! I forgot: She may have Dokaka, the Japanese beatbox acapella artist on her album. I meant to post that last week. Anyway, in the article she kept saying she wanted the album to be all about the human voice. Hence Dokaka. And possibly a guest spot by Rahzel. Have to say I'm looking forward to hearing it.
It just hit me that there won't be anymore Midnight Oil albums. That sucks. Their 2001 release Capricornia (their last) still kicks the absolute ******** out of 99% of what gets released these days.

I hope I'm not offending anyone by pointing out how funny this is. Not the fact that Israeli Jews rap. I just get off on the general kitschiness of "50 Shekel" and things like "The Worlds Most Kosher MC".
I'm not either and I thought the about ordering the same thing. Of course, I live near the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando so it would probably look pretty bad to be sporting one of those out in the neighborhood.
Speaking of Jewish hip hoppers, I saw this guy on Jimmy Kimmel couple of nights ago. I say this with all seriousness, the kid's got flow: Matisyahu: Hasidic Reggae Superstar
Maybe i just don't listen to interpol enough...but i don't really get the Elefant/Interpol comparisons. Also, this elefant CD is right up there with the streets as a top album of the year candidate for me.
'You Shouldn't Judge A Man By The Hair On His Butt!!' by Skankin' Pickle is one of the funniest song titles ever.
I think FZ provided a lot of inspiration to the Phish boys. It'd probably make you cringe as a FZ addict, but they do a pretty mean version of "Peaches en Regalia."
Peaches somewhat being FZ's signature tune, I'd like to hear it. Is it on one of their albums or just an extended jam or bootleg?
