Who dafuq closes a thread in the middle of a discussion? I imagine once we transfer Joselu the only reason he comes back is so we can sell him on for a profit Negredo style, IMO he's never had the first team look about him. And a young FB like Carvajal needs to be getting consistent minutes of football to really develop, you thinking he would get them here is a notion that has no basis in reality. He would be Arbeloa's backup, if that, Mou still would probably use Lass or Ramos in a pinch. Carvajal is a lot like Marcelo, same strengths and weaknesses, albeit it Dani is probably a better defender than Marcelo at the same age. I don't really see Mou (or this forum) suffering his growing pains lightly so why not let him broaden his horizons as a player and an individual somewhere else for awhile? He gets experience and a first team contract and we can keep an eye on him for the future, all parties have the same ultimate goal in mind and that is for the player to return. I don't see the downside to this arrangement.
Pfftt... Dumbass, you can spew your rolling eyes smiley filled nonsense here just as well as you could in the other thread.
Of course I can, I'm multi-talented you big fat bag of snacks...it's still annoying having to deal with a damn idiot n00b moderator who just learned a new trick though
This. This is FANTASTIC. Would have killed if AVB answered Spartacus style (TV Series). Oh and thread title is SuperApproved.
What's a croation? Joselu is in Germany, Hoffenheim want to pay 3 million, we're asking for 8 to 10 million. Hoffenheim have competition from a few teams from Russia and England that would pay that amount of money for him.
Not sure I want this Modric guy, he appears to be a real airhead: Tottenham left for their U.S. tour today and he missed the flight!!
According to Marca, we've reminded Spurs of the deal we gave them on VDV, as well pulling out of the race for Ade to allow him to join them on loan last season.
We should remind them that we beat their ass in the Champions League so bad they should be happy they are not in it this season.
I can see that conversation right now... Uncle Flo: Dear friend, I gave you a deal on VDV. Only 8 million! Levy: Thanks for that Uncle Flo: Honorable friend, we also didn't pursue Adebayor so you guys could get him! Levy: Oh yeah, you did that huh. Uncle Flo: So....... my distingused great friend what about cutting some slack on this Modric deal? Levy: No. Uncle Flo: But.. aren't we FRIENDS? Levy: Yes. Levy: As my good friend, you will pay me that 35-40 million pounds I've requested.
So AS is saying Jese has renewed until 2014 and his contract has a buyout of 40 feckin' ME His agent described him as "untouchable" and said that the player would start the season with Castilla but the goal is for him to get a spot on the first team as the season progresses. If this is true and it's agent speak so who knows I guess it buh-bye Lucas Moura.
Joselu to the Hoff for 8m euros Not bad money that, that puts us up to almost 30m euros from transfers now, so we would be basically snapping up Modric for peanuts if all goes well. Still hoping we sell Kaka btw
I've mentioned the name numerous times, but if Madrid is willing to spend the type of cash that is talked about, Axel Witsel is a star and has been under the radar bigtime. Perfect for Madrid as he works very hard to win balls, but also has top level skill to make things happen offensively. Extremely versatile in terms of midfield position and could be the perfect partner for Alonso. I know there were rumors a while ago, but haven't heard anything on him lately.
Too think we will spend close to a 100 ME on DiMaria, Coentrao, and Modric none of whom will be an automatic starter. We sold Robben, Sneijder, and VdV for well under a 100 ME and about half that if memory serves me right. It is rare that we come anywhere close to breaking even in the transfer market and in this case letting Gago go for 7 ME and buying Modric for upward of 20 is more of the same. Some say the grass is greener on the other side but I say that's where all the bull shit is.
I would like to see the club give players like this a chance when they cost what Ozil and Sahin did but I hate paying inflated prices based on hype or because we manifest a need where none exist.
I don't understand what your saying really Sneijder had one good season and has been crap ever since he left us, good sell imo Robben, I'm not sure what was wrong with selling him, he really hasn't impressed me to any degree where I have thought wow we should of kept him. Actually the very opposite. VdV is the ultimate average player and so bloody inconsistent, sure we could of got more but at the end of the day but no big loss imo Di Maria has done more for us than all three of those players combined accomplished in their entire career at Madrid. I would of paid 40m just for his single cross in the CdR final tbh. As for Coentrao well the jury is still out there, will he ever be worth 30m? Maybe not, is there much better options available in the market that can fill in for Marcelo adequately? Not really and certainly not cheap. Decent FB's seem to be a dying breed. If Coentrao has a cracking season then I would say well worth the buy. As for Modric if we can buy a player of that quality for under 30m pounds it would be a bargain, always said he is the only reason Spurs look decent and he is utter class.
If Modric ain't worth 40 ME than Witsel damn sure ain't at least at not this point. If we're gonna drop that kind of coin and we have to choose between Modric and Witsel I'd take the Croatian every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
