They ranked el clasico because of its history, Stanford stadium, and some of the great moments the rivalry has had.

so jazzy, is there a Vancouver-SJ derby?

No, not at all. IIRC MLS has tried to make it one during "rivalry week" because everyone else was paired off. That's what I meant by "Last Two Without A Partner Derby". Vancouver's rival would probably be Seattle but the Seattle-Portland rivalry is probably stronger. Ours would be LAG but LAG is already paired off with LAFC. I know one team can be in more than one rivalries, but the SJ-Vancouver thing is totally constucted as fas as I know.

Vancouver is destined to forever be the third wheel, third in Canada, third in Cascadia... The Quakes I guess they could start giving us San Diego as "the other California teams derby" but even that rivalry would be in danger if the league ever added Las Vegas or Phoenix which seems likely. So really we need Sacramento, Oakland, or San Francisco in MLS so we ensure have someone to play during "Rivalry Week" where it's the #1 rival for both sides...

There is a Rev East vs Rev West derby this Sat.

    Or just intersquad scrimmage?

I just discovered the Transfers tab in FotMob, and it shows all the players in/out. I noticed that with the Quakes, all the transfers in are only signed for 1 year, except Nick Lima (2 years). The Revs, OTOH, signed most of their transfers in (including Quakes players) for 2 years.

As I recall, Leitch has been a big fan of signing very short term contracts, so that every year he would have to re-sign or turn over half the team. Based on results, I would have thought the conclusion was that method wasn’t particularly successful. But I guess we are still doing it?

I don't think Fotmob is very accurate in this regard - at least, it doesn't seem to reflect the numerous (unilateral) club option years which are common in MLS but uncommon in other soccer leagues around the world. Per the MLS official roster profile update from last week:

The Cascadia Cup has been a running competition between Portland, Shittle, and Vancouver since USL days, but MLS don’t know how to deal with threeway rivalries.

Also, they don’t really rate us, so overlooking us is easy for them.

    Go Quakesfans!!

What does this even mean? Is he so bad now that if they don't get rid of him "they might as well be the San Jose Earthquakes"? He was one of their best. players last year.
