Is there really much of a market for Lopez?

With his Maradona family name, you think he would have had some contacts and/or connections already with some clubs in Europe but maybe no one will pay him his Quakes salary?

You'd keep "I run around like a headless chicken" Rodrigues that's gone downhill, for me at least, since he first came to us and already gave up on Hernán that's only been here for half a season that was already over!?
Sorry Falvo hard to take you serious on this takes.

    Not a very good one.

Granted, Jeremy Jackson, Emi Ochoa, and Will Yarbrough aren't exactly on anyones score card to be fantastic, good or serviceable.

If its Ian or Bruce or someone else. I hope they gut the staff. I hope they bring in Jon Conway, Matt Reis or Ian Feuer. If we get Bruce, we have a good chance at a new keeper coach (Reis or Feuer). Conway has done well with keepers over his time with TFC, Konopka, Bono, and Johnson.

I have to believe that Adin Brown had a lot to do with selecting ‘Brough, Jackson, and Bieganski. So there is that. Not a great bullet point on the resume. BTW looks like Bieganski is back in Polish D1(?) playing for Widzew Łódź, but looks like no appearance yet according to wiki. I don’t know if he was good or not. Barely played, and did he just leave because he was pissed off he couldn’t get on the 1st team roster? Like he had a different set of expectations?

Zach Thornton told me, he recruits and suggests keepers on a shortlist of potentials to the Head Coach and General Managers as to who and what they're looking for. Adin Brown no doubts in my mind has a hand in Brough, Jackson and Bieganski. Zach also told me, the keeper coach has a hand in when to start and sit keepers since that's there field of expertise. I'd rather have Joe Bendik as the understudy then Jackson, Brough and JT.

Bieganski also on his facebook said this team is full of unprofessional con men. He did wish Ian, Chris, Ralston and Fusco well, and the players when he duly departed.

So here is the latest I got from a little bird…

Ian Russell has no idea if he will be retained.

The Quakes are interested in the Bruce.

Niko wants to go to Europe but needs the right situation.

Sadly, there are maybe 100 players Niko’s age in each of Europe’s domestic leagues on a yearly basis trying to break into the professional ranks.

Whether he has an EU passport or not, he is still American and if there is a local domestic player just as good as Niko, they will go with a local kid.

If his only choice is going go to a second or third division, he is better off staying with the Quakes.

Not sure how true any of this is so take it all with a grain of salt but this is what I heard…

Does this little bird double as game day announcer?

Sounds like either 1) someone doesn't actually know who the little bird is, or 2) someone is being coy (though it doesn't sound like it).

Just that I am pretty sure I heard those same talking points during the game, as the announcers grew weary of watching us get stomped and decided to speculate on the future instead.

Bruce Arena when he came to town with DC United, loved my cousin’s restaurant on Blossom Hill…

That was also when Eric Wynalda and John Harkes sat at the same table…..

    So long ago…..

If Bruce Arena ends up as the Earthquakes’ newest head coach, will he, Eric Wynalda and John Harkes once again visit your cousin’s restaurant on Blossom Hill and sit at the same table (just curious)?

Tom (Humphrey) Bogert had a post out some days ago about the supposed Quakes head coach search. Bruce was on there as was Ian. So if that's what Ted and Joe were talking about (or was it the Apple TV guys), it's no surprise. No birdie required. Others on the list: Berhalter, Robin Fraser, and Gio Savarese.

It would be impossible because it closed ten years ago right after he died.

Niko is not a carry the water/piano guy. He is playing like Jackson Yueill in the Stahre years (i.e. Mr Passback).

I tried googling Shaun Tsakiris, and it looks like he’s still coaching in Saratoga.

The context was what Niko's role might be, very hypothetically speaking, with LAG. If he ever played for them, it would be because he did the dirty work / little things. He's not going to be the star attacking guy with guys like Puig, Paintsil, Pec, and Reus in there.

FWIW I don't think Niko's a "pass back" guy. He will pass back when there's nothing there, but he will also take space when it's there and drive the ball into the box.
