We caught a stray on the allocation disorder live broadcast this morning. I tuned in for part of it over breakfast, and say the end they were joking about passing the hat for collections. They were also taking donations for the San Jose earthquakes. Ouch, but I laughed.
You heard correctly. They have been good at both scoring off of corners and giving up goals off of corners. In general, they have been good at letting other teams score.
Quakes who spend like paupers, use a draft pick on this kid, let him go for nothing, LAFC who spend real money, pick him up or nothing, get some MLS production out of him, and then get $250k for him... which isn't a lot but it's more than zero. Sources: Real Salt Lake agree a deal to acquire forward Danny Musovski from LAFC for $250k GAM.Musovski, 26, has 11g/5a in 1,842 MLS minutes. pic.twitter.com/5ZXtc1jg9c— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) August 3, 2022
He wouldn't have been a bad pickup for the Quakes. We desperately need a backup #9. I guess maybe the embarrassment of buying back a player you gave away might have been too much .
Big thanks to Matias Almeyda Never forget: Matías Almeyda turned down Musovski (on a minimum salary) for Andy Ríos (on $1M/yr). Ríos managed 5G/1A in 2918 min. Musovski more than doubled that, in less time, and now fetched a nice transfer fee. This blog will never forget a Reno 1868 legend. https://t.co/I3DYn9Josa— Quakes Epicenter (@QuakesEpicenter) August 3, 2022
So glad the horrible Almeyda is gone. Now that he's gone we're doing... as well as we did when he was here but with a new "pass it backwards" strategy. Yay!! /s
Benji has actually produced at lower but somewhat similar levels - 7g, 3a in 1600-something minutes, and for a team that doesn't have as many weapons as LAFC probably had when Danny was on the field. But no reason we can't have both also. I think Benji works better as a wide player rather than a #9. Not sure Musovski is even a #9 vs. a withdrawn forward like Wondo. Been quite a while since we played 2 forwards.
Sounds like MA pissed on Quakes Epicenter one too many times. Somebody is holding a grudge. MA had his issues, but not signing Musovski doesn't really rank as one of them. Rios on the other hand...
Seems like those two things are directly related? So if you think he's responsible for the latter how does that not make him responsible for the former?
Maybe Tyf should start a new thread titled: “a shit team”. I think it better describes our 15 years under the yoke of Fisher…
Hope! Who's game to start an OnlyFans account? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...id-buy-Chilean-football-club-OHiggins-FC.html
The team is only a couple of hours away from where I'm currently living. Chilean futbol is a mess. Corruption running wild. I do believe she would most likely do a better job than the current administration.... On the other hand, anything we can do to get rid of Fisher, I'm down with.
Yes, they could be related if the conversation was around "one or the other", but we don't know. Do we know that MA wouldn't sign Musovski because we already had Rios? We could have both on the team.
So it was mentioned else where that the FO is shooting for a title contending team in 2016. Must be fun working in the season tickets sales department....."yes the next 3-years will be more of the same and we will continue to suck, but wait until year 4 !"
Quakes finished 9th of 10 teams in 2016... at this point in 2022 we would be happy to take 9th place! Instead we are 13th out of 14 teams, so the same as 2016 as in "second to last place"...
Pretty sure we won’t be contending for a title in 2016. I’m sure you meant 2026. But in any case I don’t think the idea is that we suck for 3 more years and then suddenly we’re good. It’s more about improving each year.
Hopefully this doesn't mean we're going to announce Marcos Lopez transfer, with no incoming players. Per source, the @SJEarthquakes are unlikely to announce anything today ahead of the MLS Secondary Transfer Window deadline, but some announcements are expected tomorrow. #Quakes74— JMoore Quakes (@JmooreQuakes) August 4, 2022
Lol So it ends.. The most eventful transfer window in @MLS history. The biggest collective addition of talent ever..I did not think we would see activity like this for another 3? seasons. Bar has been raised.— Maximiliano Bretos (@MaxBretosSports) August 5, 2022 We’re the street urchin with our noses pressed against the window while the rich party inside.
Source w/knowledge of the deal tells me that #Quakes74 have completed the signing of defender Carlos Akapo, most recently of Cadiz. Should slot in at right back but has played some center back as well. ESPN colleague @RodrigoFaez with the initial report of interest by San Jose.— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) August 5, 2022 I don't know if this guy can play or not (as in is he any good). He's been playing at Cadiz so can't be too bad. The only thing I've really found on youtube is this story about a gruesome injury he picked up in May - 2 broken or fractured bones in his foot. Another source said out 6-8 weeks, so he may be cleared to play. Somehow I'm getting Pablo Pintos or Abecasis vibes - that is somewhere between terrible and "doesn't move the needle". Our history with intl right back pickups has not been good, let's put it that way. Edit: Here's the whoscored report on him. So apparently, he likes to play short passes......that he is "weak" at making. Great! Should be a good fit! Reduced to looking at FIFA, he appears to be a fast, athletic type, which we could use.
