Instead of this made-up, anti-Christmas/Christian, hate speech that Fox News is spewing, I grow increasingly concerned about a real anti-Christian movement: the targeted killings of Christians in Lebanon.. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20051213/ts_afp/lebanonattack_051213114000 This sectarian violence is aimed at marginalizing and eventually eliminating Christians from having a political voice in Lebanon. What is happening there is really tragic...in the past, Lebanon seemed to have it figured out. Various religious groups lived relatively harmoniously in a democratic state. Outside interests (ahem...Syria, Iran inciting Shiites) have torn this country asunder. And now its open season on the Christians.
Interesting, but the article doesn't mention Tueni's religion. He was Christian but also anti-Syria (not a given -- many Christian leaders have been pro-Syria over the years, and Syria is NOT Islamic, it's notoriously secular), so we don't know which made him a target.
I can also post anti-dubya bile, but I usually save that for Archer's forum. Here, it's too redundant.
Lebanon used to be a Christian country. The Middle East in general used to be substantially Christian (25% or so) until the last century.
An interesting sidenote here: In our church last Sunday, a guest speaker from Worldlink Ministries recalled the Ukrainian last year funding a 3 week trip by his group to bring the message of Christianity to people in that country. By the end of that trip, over 2,500 people had committed their life to Christ. Now the government of Romania is funding a similar trip this spring. Wonder if the US government will ever fund such a venture?
If it does, then the veneer of church/state separation will have truly been exposed for a fraud. And that day is the day when the Constitution should be burned...
The question: Wonder if the US government will ever fund such [a Christian prosletyzing expedition] a venture? The answer: (via Ann Coulter) We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war. How TF is that an answer to the question asked?
Your question was why. The short answer is, so the muslims won't be waging jihad against us. Not that I think it's practical, but that wasn't the question. Time and time again, interviewers ask her if she still thinks we should do it and she replies: now more than ever! This annoys liberals to no end.
Ahhhh.........I understand. Well, then there's only one reply possible to such stunning insight and intellect. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnnn..........
No, you misunderstand. It's better and more important to piss off some Americans (liberals) than uphold the Constitution. It's the Republican way.
Its interesting to see how your use of the term "liberal" is expanding. Based on the post quoted above, I would surmise you define a liberal as "a person with any smidgen of moral conscience and/or properly grounded set of right and wrong".
