Since they love coming to our boards, I'd be interested in their thoughts on the following events which have been brought up over the last several weeks:

    1. Rio's drug situation
    2. The aggressive bidding for Saha
    3. Today's allegation of possible illegal payments involved in the Tim Howard transfer.

I'm not looking to instigate and am not saying that Man United are guilty of above accusations, but how do the mere accusations sit with Man United fans? Embarrassed, concerned, angry, worried? Defiant, unconcerned?

    1. 8 months is harsh but we can deal without him. Browns back and Keane can drop back into defence if need be.

    2. Stupid as I dont think hes great.

    3. Worried because Tims amazing.

1)- If Rio were a druggie, he'd be running all over the pitch and scoring more goals than RvN, Shearer, and Henry put together!

2)- Fulham are just whining b*tches who are not used to getting offers from top clubs because they haven't produced any good talent for them to be interested until now.

3)- When it comes to dealings in transfers there will always be something shady going on. In fact, this investigation is not just looking at the Howard deal, but also numerous transfers that went on in the entire league, including Kewell's transfer to Liverpool, Campo's move to Bolton, etc, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if your team was investigated as well. Not saying that you guys do any shady business, but I may be wrong.;)

    Glory! Glory! Man Utd.!!!!

And if I may add another question:

What did you guys who saw the game today against NUFC (it re-airs Wed.1/14 on FSW - 5pm EDT) think of Silvestre's elbow (13th min.) on Shearer that drew blood? Looked pretty deliberate. What did y'all think bout that non-call? How much did Sol get for a not-as-obvious "elbow" on Solksjaer last season? Four match ban.

Like 442, I'm not looking to instigate, just like to hear your opinion. That's all.

I purposely left that out because I wanted to compare the two most similar incidents.

Parkhead, I wasn't looking for Shearer sympathy. In fact it has nothing to do with him. It could've been anyone. Just wondering how you saw both incidents.

I know mate, I just have no time for shearer whatsoever, one of the dirtiest players ever to play the game IMO, all sneaky elbows and the like.
Thats why i would pin a medal on silvestre before handing him a 4 match ban ;)

dont be stupid mate, shearer is one of the greatest players to grace the game, and at least he doesnt boot his own players in the head at training (laughs and points at hartson)

No - he does it in a game (to Neil Lennon) and then threatens to withdraw from England NT if anything is done about it.....

Yeah! I've noticed that quite often goals are disallowed because a player has his arms all over an opponent. Funny that!

Both calls were pretty much fouled up beyond belief.

Good shout Coach - I wonder whether Durkin took the opportunity to "even things up" with the Silvestre goal....

Brodo - take your blinkers off please. :)

Durkin was shameful. I was astounded when he didn't give the penalty and maybe more astounded by dis-allowing the goal for such negligible contact. That was just awful and for once everyone at the match could agree!

In The Telegraph they said that no opposing team has converted a penalty at OT since 1993!!!

Simply astounding. You can't think that the crowd doesn't factor into a ref's decision, but, of course, opponents don't get too many calls at Highbury, either, but I'm sure someone has converted one there in the last 2 years.

I think you also have to look at the quality of keepers man United have had in that time period.

I thought the Howard-Shearer incident was a penalty until Fox World Report showed an angle where you could see Howard get a piece (albeit a very small piece) of the ball before making contact with Shearer. of course it didn't help that Shearer was complaining before he hit the ground. (and I am a Shearer fan, even have a jersey!) The Silvestre goal being disallowed was following the actual rule but ig you don't Jenas hitting the cross-bar you shouldn't call it. This is the worst thing about being a coach, you just ask for the ref to be consistant. Call all of them or none of them. I thought Jenas was going to plant a flag when he got up there!

It's not quite as bad as that - the 3 relates to the penalties scored in that period, not the number given....

I think he was referring to the fact that in all the matches played at OT since '93, only 3 penalties have been given inside the box against manUre. The homefield advantage is pretty strong at OT. Of course, as I added, not a whole lot of calls have been made against Arsenal at Highbury, either, but I'm sure it's quite a few more than 3.

The homefield advantage is part of the game.

BTW, Ferguson and Durkin both stated after the game that it was a penalty. Durkin just wasn't in a good enough position to make the call, and kudos to him for admitting it. SAF said after the game that it was a definite penalty, that Howard had gotten him. With the disallowed goal, things probably evened out, although I'm sure Durkin would never admit to that.

Both calls were terrible, for sure, no argument there.

And can I get any back up on the fact that The Cult may be the most under rated rock band ever?
