What's the roof made out of? I remember reading somewhere that it's a sort of fabric roof, but I'm not sure. Seems to me that if it is made out of fabric, it'll do its primary job (protect fans from sun and rain), but not the one that people on BigSoccer get all excited about (reflect fan noise back down), since most fabrics tend to absorb sound, not reflect it. Can I get the straight dope, please?
According to my local paper, it's teflon-coated fiberglass. So not only will sound bounce off it, so will eggs.
While at the open house you could hear how sound bounces around under that roof. That was just people walking around and chit-chatting with one another. That place will be loud when its got stands filled with people and those people are getting vocal. 5 days till the game. Wait till its been played and then ask the people that will have been there. Like me.
And maybe they could hand out some of those beating sticks as well. Those always help, and I'm sure their sound would bounce around as well.
Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I hate those beating sticks. There's a special place in Hell reserved for the inventor of those things.
I think most people here would agree with you. However, please use the scientific name for them: Bangy Things.
Just one question... Why does the Los Angeles Galaxy want their stadium to look like Denver International Airport?
Re: Just one question... I thought it looked like an airport too, but one from the mideast...in Yemen or Qatar, i can't remember...or was it in Bahrain?
I believe they are officially called Thunder Stix....still hear that noise in my sleep from last year's World Series!
