they're first and foremost football supporters (can see Gate 13 banners) that also follow other city sports (or teams from that club - some soccer teams also have basketball team handball etc teams of same name). We did same thing, it's more about city pride than sport being too popular.

That Irish movie was good "They're not fans, they're customers." :D

it depends. I'm certain, for example, if Notts County were in the premiership and Nottm Forest were still in league one, Forest would still get better crowds. The grounds are only 400 yards apart, so it's not even a case of regional population.

Certainly a team will get higher crowds in a higher division, but that's just because the games are more appealing. Crowds will rise is a team goes from League Two to League One, and it's not as if League One players are stars compared to their League Two bretheren.

You also have to take into account that you aren't comparing like v like. Southend mgiht get 10,000 in the CCC, but there's only about 150,000 people in the area, compared to maybe half a million at bigger premiership clubs. Teams in smaller towns actually get better crowds, per head of population, than big city teams.

Do you care about those people who stop liking a band once they sign to a major label? Probably not since they're douchebags, so why do you care about Eurosnobs? They scoff at MLS for their image, not for their interest.

    HELL YEAH !!!!

In France, the NBA is more popular than french basketball league. And many people bash the french league.

There are a lot NBAsnobs all over Europe.

But there's a strong resistence in Spain, Italy, Greece and Turkey.

Who the heck actually follows that garbage is beyond me. Playoffs fine, but regular season hoops is as uninteresting as it gets.

I think Scotland has the highest per head average of any country in any sport. They get some tiny crowds but people often forget how small Scotland is population wise. Dundee for instance has 2 league clubs but only 140,000 people.
