Give it a rest Top We've been over and over this many times. The Revs started out behind the eightball because Frank Stapelton didn't know much about US players and our early roster really suffered. With single entry we had a very hard time digging out from that early hole. Couple that with two crazy coaches (WRongan and Zenga) trading away all our draft picks in an attempt to make a quick fix and our on field product stayed in the Crapper. The turning point for this franchise was the demise of Miami and TB and the special draft that followed. Managemnent finally were able to pick up some chips to play with and we have been on the upswing ever since. Lets not forget that we were one spit-curl from being MLS Champs in 2002 and I don't think in recent seasons that any team playing us thinks they can get an easy win. Our current doldrums seem to be causing people to forget that the 2004 Revs were picked by many to be in MLS Cup. We may be bottom of the table but we are only 7 points out of first place. With all the crap that this side has had to deal with thats not bad at the 1/3 mark of the season. I still think this is a semifinal-final level team in this year. Now if the Soccer Gods will just stop giving Viagra to all the other teams Keepers

Gee Top I didn't know you related to Big Frank??? Seriously though, please tell me what is incorrect or unrealistic about what I posted above? Prior to League Contraction the Rev were a very poor side for the reasons stated and we have discussed to death. The contraction draft changed the balance and if you were to run league statistics for the years since, the Revs have been a good mid table team and the last two years have been right in the mix for the Cup. Right now we are going through a tough spell but this side is far better than it's record. How they will do going into the all important "Second Season" is anyones guess but SN has shown that he knows how to get his team ready for the playoffs. BTW, go take a look. Your correct the revs have gone from a terrible team to a team at times that is above average. If you take a look at this team, put it under a microscope, you will realize that this is not a championship team even with all players healthy. When healthy and playing on all cylinders the front 6(4-4-2) are as good as there is in the league however there us a huge drop off in talent looking at the defenders. I said it last year and the begining of this year and I will say it again, the Revs will not win a championship with the likes of Franchino and heaps playing one the outside. I also tend to question Rusty and LLamosa's ability. I hope one day these guys prove me wrong but if I were at the helm they would have been gone before the start season. They are just not championship caliber players. they make too many mental mistakes. Franchino commited a dosey last week by blowing a gasket. How can your captain freak like that knowing that half the team is awalking wounded?

I'm with Soccer Doc. Someway, somehow, by the time the playoffs come around, Nicol will have the ship righted and the team ready. And, yes, we'll be in the playoff 8. In fact, as long as the injury rate tapers off, they'll be a stronger team for the fact that the young players have gotten serious game experience. If you're not going to believe in the coach who has gotten his team playoff-ready in 2 of his 2 seasons, who are you ever going to have faith in?
