    Heyo,
I know that there's been a lot of work done around here to try to cut down on a lot of the 'noise' around here. However, I think one of biggest issues though is newbiews creating threads on the same tired topics. I know this has been discussed before, but since us crusty old four digit plus post count guys can't be trusted to contribute in a posative way I think I may have a solution.

In the same manner which on every thread starting post there's a warning that says, "Don't post results if you do put an [R]" why not have something also like, "If your thread is not topical preform a search first to see if it is already being discussed." That might be a good way to clean up some of these tiresome threads without discouraging newbies from participating.

Can non-paying users do searches these days? The mods could also merge the old and new threads together.

Thats a good question. I hadn't even thought or known that non-prems couldn't search. I would assume that they could. I don't really think it's a mods responsability perse. I personally think though taht some of this crap should either be stickies or in the model of DCU's FAQ thread. But I just thought this might be a good idea as a friendly little reminder. Not that the [R] notice keeps people from posting spoilers but it at least gives people some semblence of a warning before they post sume dumb ass stuff and get launched into.

Yes, we can search. I think. Never tried it.
