I've got to say though, when I saw the result I wasn't even surprised, which is really telling.

It's sad as I really like Rueda and I wanted to trust him but when it's evident that things aren't working when something needs to be done to shake things up he continues to resort to type. Surely there's a time to take roll the dice, especially in high stakes when a marvick is needed.

The first goal seemed slightly out of the blue but conceding unexpectedly happens, it's about how team's with resolve react... CR were 1-0 at half time, there's ample time for the management and the players to salvage something.

This can't solely be squarred on the manager though. It's in our footballing DNA - T'n'T 2001, USA 2009, let alone at club level!

For whatever reason the fortitude isn't there. Granted there's loads of players out but equally it's an opportunity for players to step up, especially against a side of Nicaragua's pedigree.

The pitch looked like an odd one, both goals seem to come from ill timed bounce early on in play when Najar and Arriaga miss judged the bounce but there's 90 minutes, there's literally zero excuses.

We through the "automatic" route away but on paper this was always going to be the shoot out with CR in San Jose anyway, as was the perceived likelihood was needing a result in in SJ... only now it has to be the 3 points and Nica not conceding too many.

The more I see of him play he really looks uncoordinated and unable. For our level when we invite so much pressure he looks a sitting duck.

Same with Benguche. Zero agility and very limited speed. International football doesn't lend to these guys. I was thinking even Bengston's has a better highlight reel then him under Rueda.

I just hope by some miracle we don't conceide and Palma, or anyone, digs a goal out of somewhere and we manage to shithouse our way to the World Cup.
