DC United sign 15 year Honduran Oscar Avila to a Homegrown contract, this is the 22nd Homegrown signing in the Clubs History. https://www.dcunited.com/news/d-c-u...ld-forward-oscar-avilez-as-a-homegrown-player 15 is incredibly young to have a contract like that which means that DC United must see something big in him, he already represented the USA in the U16 team so he will have to switch in order to represent us. Hopefully it doesn’t become a Danilo Acosta situation
David Ruiz signs contract extension with Inter Miami until 2028, let’s hope that he manages to stay healthy and has more participation next year since 2025 was really bad for him. https://www.intermiamicf.com/news/i...demy-product-david-ruiz-to-contract-extension Ricky Montenegro is also now training with the 1st team at Inter and could potentially make an appearance this season, we could have another Honduran in the 1st team next year.
I imagine that Exon Arzu will likely play with the Houston 1st team next year, his contract ends in December 2026 with a team option every year until 2029. I doubt that they will leave in MLS Next Pro for 3 straight years. I like the way he plays, speedy right winger.
Another assist out in Poland for Palma and he had a goal very narrowly ruled out by VAR too, a great strike from inside the 18 yard box. Really positive move joining Lech Poznan so far. 4-3 win for Alenis Vargas in Finland, he started and scored SJK's second. 90 minutes for Kervin Arriaga in La Liga but Levante lost 2-0 at home to Rayo. Despite the loss, by all accounts el Misilito was Levante's best player.
Alenis Vargas scored 2 in 2 now, and SJK are pushing for the top of the table. Palma playing UEFA Conference League in Gibraltar tonight. Should be 3 points for Lech.
Hatrick for Keyrol against Everton, he's on 5 goals in 7 so far in the Premier League 2. Looks like he took being snubbed for the WC seriously.
Well he has to call up Erick now, I know that Rueda is going to play Benguche as a lone striker which doesn’t work. It might against Nicaragua but not Costa Rica
I really don't understand the beef with Rochez. It's a weird one and I don't really know who is at fault. I don't see Rueda putting anything to one side though, even at this point. What a chance for Puerto, if he's young and in form then off the bench he is worth a gamble at this stage, all things considered.
I'm actually more concerned about our CB situation then up top... If Getsel and Vega aren't fit then it's really getting makeshift.
Don't get new wrong, anyone can concede in the last minute. Anyone can get red carded. Anyone can miss a penalty. But, look at the Marcelo Santos sending off, the way Arriaga and Flores getting involved against Haiti. Look at how often we concede in the last minute goals across all levels, over years. Look at how in penalty shootouts we can miss more penalties than convert - against Mexico in th Azteca, last night vs Xelaju. Perhaps I'm being hypercritical but there's a basic level of professionalism that we always fall short of.
Someone made a video comparing Honduran refereeing to Continental refereeing using Marcelo Santos as the example. In Honduras he gets away with a ALOT, in stark contrast against Cartigenes he was shown a double yellow immediately for displaying the same conduct that he usually gets away with in league games... There's a reason why we're unprofessional and it's because this unprofessional ass league allows it.
Olimpia suffers the same fate as Real España. It's as if these dudes don't work on penalties at all which blows my mind, because as a coach myself, I make it a point to reenact a real PK shootout before any playoff game we're going to face. I'm talking the whole nine yards, goalie gotta be on the line, a hard discipline Incase you miss to make it a little pressure pact, real refs.. As professionals ain't no way you don't do that...but what do I know, the circus just rolls on man smh
What an absolute shit show! All that Rey de Copas stuff is embarrassing considering Olimpia's pedigree at a regional level. As I said before, even the best miss penalties but not being able to convert 1 of three attempts off that back of RE's showing... not to mention the game management - Olimpia was up over both legs. As was Motagua in the return leg against Alajualense, then conceded in injury time, as was Espana who conceded in injury time against Xelaju... There's a pattern.
Starts and goals for both Palma and Arriaga. Misilito's first in La Liga and a brilliant solo effort from Bicho. Unfortunately, Levante lost, conceding in the last minute playing most of the game with ten men. Deybi and Quioto continue to gain minutes but have yet to win a game this season, in what seems a tough Saudi League. If last week's results tell us anything it's that we can't rely on the calibre of Liga Nacional and these guys will be the difference makers.
Keyrol really is on fire at the moment. A brace against Middlesbrough for Liverpool u21s. I think it's flogging a dead horse at this stage but I really think they'd be no harm in trying to cap him if we were to qualify for next summer. Consider the talent pool which is currently available.
Besides the Brazil drubbing of the Mini H, Rueda announces what I perceive to be a super odd call-up list. It's not a completely makeshift roster but we're really almost there. No Denil, Julian, Choco, Edwin, Ruiz, Rivas.. Calls in Edwin Palacios, Machuca Ramirez, Gio Puerto, Dereck Moncada, Devron Garcia, Franklin Flores, Cristopher Melendes, Denis Melendez.. Let's hope Haiti can do us a solid.
I don't know, to say we're playing out the last two games of World Cup qualifying and a ticket the finals this list looks extremely makeshift to me. In light of out horrendous injuries this is what we've got to go with though and I trust Rueda's decision making. No Bryan Rochez, in a time when we most need a proven striker and he's just off the back of 2 goals, Rueda still leaves him out. Looks like that beef was real, he can kiss USA 26 goodbye... interestingly, if we were to qualify with no Rochez and (potentially) Choco does that open a spot for a young lad from the Liverpool reserves? I'm feeling hopeful but we've been here before... a Haiti draw isn't out of the realms of possibilities but if that doesn't give then things get really nervy.
The good is that Puerto and Acosta made the squad.. the bad is, there seems to be a lot of fat on the squad, Arboleda, Melendez, Flores, etc. Outside of the starting 11, we may have like one or two subs that can spark something, the rest seem like pure bench fodder. Alexys, Luis Vega, and Pinto.. I doubt Puerto starts, but he'd be my starting striker and if on the bench, the first guy off of it. Benguche/Arboleda are about what n what.
Looks like Rueda anticipates more of slug fest, and maybe has getting that golden point in mind. With that said, if Kervin and Deybi are on it like against Haiti, Palma, Pinto, Alexy Vega or even Dereck Moncada should be able to conjure some moments.
I hate U17 tournaments... It's rare that majority of these players pan out. Some might be early bloomers, others late bloomers... If we were to dive into our Senior NT and see how many have played for our U17 I guarantee it's something like 1%. Erick Puerto I doubt was remotely on the U17 radar for instance.. same for Arriaga and Rosales. Anywho, Morocco just lost to Portugal 6-0 so .. yea. This age group is always a bit funky like that, so losing to Brazil 7-0 shouldn't be alarming at all.
