Although it's great to hear Song going to Europe with a good fee and Jisung Park break that record not too long after that, but I'm kinda worried about this price-tag-overheat. Anyang FC expressed its opinion about sending Young-pyo Lee to PSV Eindhoven as PSV is definately interested in Lee. However, what Anyang commented reminds me of what Huitaek Lee of Chunnam FC said long time ago. "it is impossible to not to compare with how much other players (who went to Europe) got." In other words, Anyang FC will not let go Young-pyo Lee if PSV doesn't offer the money that *at least* rivals that of what Jisung Park or Song got. Takahara, the J-League MVP this year, is known to have gone to Hamburg of Bundesliga with about $2 million. Song went to Feyenoord with about $4 million. That's twice of Takahara and Park even topped Song's price tag. Chunnam also reported that they will negotiate comparing with how the other "exported" players got saying that their player does not deserve less. To me, it sounds more like an excuse not to let go their players, and the price tag is helping them out. The only ones I can imagine getting a high price tag is Ahn and maybe Young-pyo Lee. But from then on, players like Namil Kim(Chunnam), Chunsoo Lee(Ulsan) and etc should be aware of their clubs' nonsense.
Sounds more like an old issue to me. It's just a matter of pride for these clubs at this point. By making this claim, Anyang better be damn sure that Lee Young-pyo is better than Park Ji-sung or Song.
lol redonkulous bump. interesting to see how much Song cost Feyernoord. thought he was something special after 02' WC but ehhh..
Song was one of our best in 02 imo and he had his chance. Just that his personal life was in the crappers and he got plagued with major injuries. Our 02 team was pretty damn stacked if you think about it now.
Surely Korean teams will see the benefit of having their players participate in European leagues, right?
