    Hello friends.

I have noticed, since last year's World Cup, a greater number of people about these boards with Colonge in their favorite teams.

I am trying to organize and create an unofficial club for cologne supporters in North America. I have done this before but didn't get a great response.

I am going to ask for help from some of the people responsible for organizing great MLS fan clubs. The goal for this club would be, of course, to support 1.FC Cologne in whatever way we can and hopefully work out some sort of relationship with the club. Who knows? If nothing else we can get cool t-shirts and scarves. :D

If you or someone you know is a Cologne fan in North America, please post in this thread and/or contact me by PM.

    Thanks!

Your just the kind of "cool t-shirt and scarf" go-getter we're looking for. :D

Well I've been looking for that Magical German club that makes me feel good. It wasn't Mönchengladbach, but I do like Hamburg a bit. Osnabrück is kind of cool, but still looking.

    FC Köln could work.

Cologne is awesome. It's a great town. They have a fantastic stadium and great support. The beer is excellent. And they were the first Bundesliga champions!

Negativo - they don't have an English page.

    That's because they aren't sellouts!

And if we get organized enough, we can start our own English page!! See - WE ARE ON OUR WAY!! GEHEN WIR!!!!

i'm with ya. i spent three days in koln at the cup and made a new friend (a friend of my brother's from college told us to look him up--he was our translator and bierhaus guide for almost a week!) who is a computer forensics expert. koln IS a great city, and i had a great time there. it was good to see the club's old coach return, but haven't been able to follow all that much since they moved to B2. Go Billygoats!

Its not selling out, its providing information to the masses, the great unwashed, the non-Germans.

No, not that many can read German. So providing information in English is the way to go.

Sounds like a good idea! I don't think there's any clubs except Bayern's in North America (I could be wrong).

I agree, I'm still trying to find a club as well. I tried to love my grandfathers club (TSV) but it is tough, i tried to love my mothers side's club Hamburg, but I just couldn't.

I was in Cologne in the summer, beautiful place. I really loved it. I could try it on for size.

    :) Nicely done!

(I'm not that familiar with the Freiburg rivalry thing... what's the story there?)

I was in Hamburg, nice club, nice stadium, great fans, but for some reason I've always had Cologne in my shortlist.

English site makes it easier for me.

are you talking about the VfB - Freiburg rivalry?

because if that's so...Basically it's just a regional rivalry...Baden-Württemberg...Has the Badners(Baden) and the Schwabs(Württemberg, i'm sure you know that)...Who both aren't exactly crazy about each other...Nobody wants to share a Bundesland with the other so pretty much any Baden team will hate all the Schwaben teams and the schwaben teams will hate all the "Badenser" as you call us...

if you weren't asking about that then...lets say i just tend to talk to myself sometimes, because i'm not sure which looks more stupid.

With a North American fan club established, they might be more willing to make an English site, huh??? Especially if we have a famous World-Traveling Soccer Genius like yourself on the membership list. :D

FOLKS - if you are a fan, please PM me an email address and I'm going to get this thing going!
