Even the fired Swede said we have no Striker in his infamous Quote that presumably got him fired as well as the teams losing

“They thought we were tough to play against, but we don’t have a striker,” Rydstrom said. “No, we don’t, so we know where we are when it comes to that. It’s also the expectations on the club and the team are always big and should be, but at this point where we are right now, we need to lower that a little bit.”

I agree with 99% of this. Where I disagree is about the upcoming window. Under no circumstances is a punt acceptable. This team has punted for two calendar years under Issa Tall. There's no need to bring back Tim Bezbatchenko to run that same strategy. This must and will be a very active window.

Wow. The Crew actually fired a coach WITHOUT me predicting it.

He's by far (record wise) the worst coach in club history and didn't give this team an identity after nearly half a season. And the team was horrible to watch. Only shocking part is that they did it now.

The timing does seem - well, not "strange" really, but perhaps a bit curious.

Tall certainly wouldn’t have done this on his own. And if Bez essentially is the guy pulling the strings that led to this, well, the optimist in me can’t help but wonder if the timing means that announcing Bez’s return is imminent.

Of course, the optimist in me has been beaten down so many times, I should know better than listen to him. Still, as you say, curious.

That's an interesting thought. They decided that Rydstrom had to go, but didn't want Bez' first act to be firing someone. Better to let the blood be on Issas' hands.

And as I said elsewhere today, they can say what they want but Issa simply couldn't have made this decision on his own. I don't believe that he has that kind of throw weight.

Seems to me Issa is now the dude that edits the Excel spreadsheets and does the hatchet work when Bez needs some distance.

In which case they should let Issa go the extra mile and dump Gazdag, rather than leave it for Bez.

Maybe Bez is needed to tell Jimmy what's what on that account.

Tall would have never done it this year because it would be an admission of his failure. It's the same reason why Gazdag is still on the roster.

I Agree! We can't punt..we need to find a Striker. We need to improve our scoring threat! Love how Hugo, Max and Diego are playing. We can make a run. We just need a threat atm.
