Anyone else question Figo taking the penalty?

Zidane is one of the most clutch performers in the game, and I have always felt Figo to be a little bit of a headcase, a talented one, but a headcase nonetheless.

Completely agree. If you look at the Sticky thread regarding the Champions League (Decima) you'll see a couple of comments there. Almost everyone agrees, Figo on the penalty was a big mistake. For my part, Zidane or Hierro should have taken it. Raul wasn't in shape (and choked in Euro 2000) so I'm not sure he was a good candidate to step up to the spot. Same with Ronaldo (not 100% physically).

It was the crucial moment in the entire semifinal (both games).
