That’s got to be the most obscure comparison anyone has ever asked here. Who watches the both the A-league and the HK league?
agreed, they are definitely lower quality leagues, but i'm sure there are some people from the West coast who commute between Van/Seattle & HK and are football fans
I do not follow either A-League or the HK league. But I am the closest person over here to follow both.... the A-league is probably better. Let's see Musa Shannon is playing in HK league now. He was tearring apart MLS with Valderama and secured a move to Portugal.... since then, he disappeared.... resurfaced in the A-League, but did not do anything. Finally, this season in HK, he was a good player. Geraldo Laterza could not find a palce with Seattle Sounders.... but made it the HK League XI a few times.
Musa Shannon? Tearing up MLS? Are we talking about THE Musa F. Shannon? There's a few things to remember about Musa Shannon, but him tearing up MLS certainly isn't one of them. He's playing for Kitchee, is he?
I think the only MLS player that is playing in Asia that was legit was Saul MARTINEZ. Musa Shannon????? Son, please reasearch THEN make a post.
Believe me.... someone in bigsoccer USMNT called for Shannon to be in the USMNT back in 1999.... he opted for Liberia instead. He was the 6th topscorer for MLS in 1999. He was once a MLS player of the month. He had Valderama back then whom also made Diallo a star. Saul Martinez rarely played a single game in MLS. I stand by my words.... Musa Shannon was tearing apart MLS!!!! And I did my research!!!!
The list of non-U.S. players who BS members have called on to be capped is illustrious in its length, if not its membership. Shannon moved to the U.S. in 1990 due to civil war in Liberia and, IIRC, did acquire a green card, but would you really call 20 goals and seven assists from 1997-1999 "tearing apart" the league? Keep in mind that 12 of those goals came in his final season before moving to Maritimo. He couldn't crack Colorado's lineup upon returning to MLS (outside of one glaring incident), was released and failed to impress DC and NY in tryouts last year.
