Scott Ostler of the San Francisco Chronicle has some ideas on replacement basketball players for Team USA . He's obviously out to lunch on the men's team, but will the Greek women's team be filled with Americans?
I am sure he is making a joke on the fact that in order for Greece to have a representation in sports not being played in Greece like baseball, Greece has invited People of Greek Descent who are other nations citizens and play these games to say if they would like to participate. I disagree with what Greece did. I would prefer not to have a team in each and every sport. But I am sure some of these people will also feel very honoured to represent Greece as they sometimes feel very much attached to the land of their fathers or grandfathers. Besides that, if the joke goes further than this example I would not know what to answer the man since I dont really get it!?
