Barthez was good for Manu Last season with the exception of one game. He was outstanding for France all season (and still is). Kahn's opinion on Barthez is certainly worth much more than Soccernet's.

Oh, yeah, right. So SAF kicked him out cause he didn´t stand to have such a world class keeper in his goal. He wanted to give the rest of the league a chance for winning, right..........

Fact of the matter is that Barthez is hungry. He wants to play first-class soccer. He needs to play good, but he's always had his faults.

Champions' League 01-02, against Deportivo. He showed the world that super-aggressive goalkeeping doesn't work. Some of those mistakes were picked up by the armchair goalkeepers, like myself.

Let's take a step into the time machine. Didn't the same thing happen to Sander Westerveld? Now look at him!
