If FIFA didn’t pull it from Russia they aren’t gonna pull it from the US. That’s my point. Anyone expecting differently isn’t paying attention to the last 10 years.

Your reading must be off. Nothing in any of my posts showed any expectation of FIFA pulling out of the US.

Depends on how you define “worse”. And who it is worse for. The Trump administration is much less practiced in totalitarian governance than Russia was in 2018. Were Russia in the midst of an immigrant round up in 2018….there is zero doubt in my mind the Putin could have ended it with a snap of his fingers. I’m not sure Trump has that level of control over the forces he’s unleashed. My evidence? The Hyundai raid. The freedom our fascists have to make decisions like that at the local level is infinitely worse for FIFA…whether they recognize it or not.

 

Or Brazil in 2014, or South Africa in 2010, or Qatar in 2022 for certain demographics.

 

That right there gets to the heart of problem with the over the top self flagellating that goes on here…no Russia was not in the midst of an immigration round up because it’s such a total shithole that nobody immigrates to there!!!! By definition, a nation with lots of immigrants is desirable and a nation with no immigrants is not.
