When they march you and I to the camps, I fully expect you to shush me down and tell me to maintain my civility. Well die with honor, my brother in Allah. Wagging our fingers just before the bullets fly, telling them their insults at us are not very civil and as government agents they should act as an example to others.

I have some youngsters in my life too and they’re still talking about Palestinians like the genocide in Gaza is the be all and end all issue of their world in Northern California. It’s a terribly serious issue but some of these kids couldn’t get behind our candidate because of “Genocide Joe” and his accomplice, Kamala.

In 1968 I was part of a boarding school group soon to reconvene at Yasgur's farm. That was Humphreys/Nixon time and we talked a lot about a George Wallace-Stokely Carmichael ticket. We called it the "Final Solution" ticket.

Humphreys was repulsive and Nixon was obviously crooked, and the whole thing looked completely hopeless. The "politics of joy," proclaimed in a cloud of tear gas, vs. the "secret plan to end the war..." It is easy to feel completely ideologically trapped at that age, and just want to get to the rebuild stage after the catastrophe is quieted.

There's a culture within the Black community that gets uncomfortable when some of us mock the deaths of our enemies. Soccernutter mentioned it in either this or another thread a few days ago. He's right. And it's tied in with our need to be led by faith.

I managed to free myself from that line of thinking decades ago.

Millions of Jews are worried about getting sent to camps. But only tens of thousands are so there's no need to exaggerate their fear. I mean...it's not like it'll be hundreds of thousands or millions at any point. Stop spreading fear!

 

It's because we are deconstructing American Empire. The youth have seen enough information and know how the sausage is made. And they want out because Empire isn't and hasn't been working for most people since the financial crisis in 08.
