This is behind a paywall for me, I'll assume you're right on the parents (which is less important really). In this politically supercharged online environment, this type of stuff (and getting it right) is important as people try to make this incident a rallying cry.
Mods can't ding people for not Source/Linking then doing it themselves "Be better" as Melania never said
When you have time: I wasn't there, and it wasn't on my radar beyond occasional articles about the Junta and its capacity for making opponents disappear. Was the dirty war similar to the American civil war, or was it more like the Troubles in Northern Ireland? I suspect it was in many way its own thing, given specific circumstances unique to Argentina, but I don't know.
It obviously was unique to Argentina, but I do want to share my experience because there are lessons that I believe are applicable to the situation in the US. Obviously some of you may dissagree with some of my thoughts, (and if you talk to ten people who went through what I went through growing up you might get ten very different opinions based on the same experiences), but I think we can have a helpful discussion given what we are going through right now here in the US as well as in much of the world. The main similarity I see, as I said, is that I grew up in an extremely polarized society, and I see us here going in that direction. And not too distant history tells us that extremely polarized societies are fertile grounds for fascism.
We're already there. One party is expected to act like adults and the other just says and does whatever the F it wants without worry of repercussion.
Robinson also dressed up as Trump in 2017 for a Halloween party. He was 14 years old then. https://m.economictimes.com/news/in...-media-posts-reveal/articleshow/123855059.cms
Subscribed to all three. And it doesn't help as much as I want. And their algo is really stupid. I watch NWSL highlights, and a few US-based women's soccer pods, all subscribed. And then Alyssa Thompson got transferred to Chelsea, and now I get all kinds of Chelsea women's channels popping up. IDGAF, mostly, about the Chelsea women's team. But YouTube thinks I do now.
I think, even if you don’t source/link, you should at least say where you heard the info. I would appreciate it so that we can verify the info ourselves.
That’s fair . Being on the phone I assumed many people had already seen the briefing or read about it . It’s what I typically do when I am just posting something informative and not replying to someone …. but this time I was replying to someone who is saying this guy was right wing without any details .
Does that happen even when you use the “subscriptions” tab? I’m talking about the little icon on the bottom of the page. If you are on “Home,” you get the algo.
And the trend is accelerating. This is completely uncharted territory, but I have a very hard time imagining things not getting much worse. I don’t see how this battleship can turn around anytime soon. Too much momentum going the wrong way, plus, the ship’s captain is all full speed ahead. I continue to be disappointed in the amount of elite collaboration. But the more they continue to collaborate, the more difficult the recovery is, if it’s even possible. For example, let’s say the Dems get a trifecta in 2028 and also decide to bypass the Supreme Court. (Assume a can opener….). What should Dems do about the big law firms or the Ivy League schools that collaborated? ******** if I know. What about TFNYT and the Bezos Post? ******** if I know. Red states? How punitive is the right amount, and how do you balance that with what is possible? Because as I’ve said a bunch of times, this pattern of heads they win, tails oh well they get to try again, isn’t sustainable. We aren’t a democracy right now. We have to fix that.
My accelerationist speculation is looking rather more likely today. Apparently, the engravings were all memes: https://www.theverge.com/politics/7...-with-a-helldivers-combo-and-a-furry-sex-meme
Why are modern day fascists so angry when they are accurately described as fascists? Benito, who coined the term, proudly wore it.
I'm doing this on my desktop, and the channels I get "recommended" are on the list on the right. I do get recommending channels, but not the way they do it.
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5498536-clay-higgins-targets-charlie-kirk-killing-celebrators/ GOP’s Higgins seeks ‘ban for life’ of social media users celebrating Kirk’s shooting. But hey, "Hang Mike Pence" is just "boys will be boys".
So everyone in the nation is being expected to show sadness at the loss of one loud mouth asshole (or else)… lets follow the example of comrade orange
Matt Walsh just posted the most disturbing video ever. Basically calling the "right" to fight back against "them" and avenge Kirk's death. Meanwhile Trump actually said he doesn't care about bringing the country together. You are beyond cooked American.
Sorry whatever happened to you and your family created this Viewpoint in you but it's incredibly lacking and more based in theory than application. Taylor Lorens has gotten a ton of harassment for her views regarding the tech industry and sexism and nobody's been able to help her and nobody cares to help her but it's always all free speech people can say what they want to say so that harassment and entering her emails and all of that is just written off because nobody cares. But if those guys get arrested all of a sudden it's an attack on their free speech. Little Charlie literally was at an event where somebody said when can we use the guns to take our rights back and he completely supported that so at some point when you're saying we need to kill the enemy and you get killed you can't call that an overacher free speech And finally a lot of those Free Speech stuff is just an absolute perversion of free speech. Free speech in the Constitution refers to the government. If I called the president's wife an ugly whore and then I'm arrested and put in jail and trumped up charges that's a violation of free speech. If I called your wife an ugly whore and you beat me within an inch of my life, that's not a violation of my free speech that's the consequences for reckless action.
