Not really. The Wobblies were fiercely anti fascist, and were part of the war effort from 1941 on. They just suddenly were not perceived as unamerican anymore, but rather as veterans of the struggle against Hiter before the rest of us. My county was still full of aging survivors of the Lincoln Brigade (who fought against Franco and the German and Italians in the Spanish Civil War) when I got here in 1979. My parents' generation of my family had nothing against them at all though they, my family, voted for Eisenhower post war. They, my family, had voted for FDR before the war after all.
But also Democrats are some of the sissiest-ass pansy-ass snowflakes who were born with penises and pretend to be girls. They're also too weak to pull a trigger because they fold like a house of cards whenever they see a gun.
I think you're right. It's going to be the end of order. It's toxic. But not in and of itself. It's a camera. The things I was always told about conservatives by the elders are now in plain view, as much because of social media as what I am able to see with my own eyes here locally. I am essentially kept aware of my predicament on a national/international scale as a POC thru social media, which on one is a good thing, on the other, shortens my life (not having my head on a swivel, so to speak, would shorten it more). That's separate from the paper cuts and the occasional bullwhip of real life. One part of the Right attacking relentlessly, now that the Internet has destroyed the cultural fence that kept natural enemies out of one another's discussions. Another part serves to blunt our defensive strategies by agreeing with us to some degree or another on the issue but not the solution. There was a time when I could just walk away from someone whose politics put my existence in danger and not have to deal with them again unless I wanted a bank loan or was in their part of town when I had no business there. Now we're expected to conduct ourselves cordially with a knee on our necks. TL;DR? Social media tore the hood off the 'wood. Social media showed us who they are when they're at their worst, and showed us what we have to become to have any chance to survive it. I'm not sure that's not a net positive.
I have seen articles suggesting that people have lost their jobs over not being respectful enough in the aftermath of the shooting in their social media reaction. I have to say that prior to this murder, I wasn't really familiar with Charlie Kirk or his work. I have since seen clips, among others a widely circulated one in which he seemed to suggest that gay people should be stoned to death? So just speaking about the LGBTQ community, they expect that minority to be solemn and sorrowful when the man himself seemed to advocate for their death?
Sidenote, but the fact that I barely knew the who the guy was makes the attempt at a minute silence from the EU parliament bizarre. I am more online and more interested in the U.S. culture wars than the average European and I barely knew who he was. I'm pretty sure the large majority of people on the old continent had zero idea who Charlie Kirk was until yesterday. Yet some seem intent on treating his murder like a November 22, 1963 level event. The far-right here has been attacking members of the governing coalition for not making public statements about the murder. Why should they exactly? And if they did, shouldn't they then do so about every high-profile murder in the U.S.?
Yes, that about sums it up. And to be clear, the Bible never says gay people should be stoned to death (edit: he is alluding to Leviticus 20:13, which does carry the penalty of death for male-male sex as a purity violation but does not say anything about stoning to death; but you will notice that same chapter also says if a man has sex with a menstruating woman, they should both be forced to leave the country; but Kirk doesn't seem to care about the latter). He lied about what the Bible says regarding gay people and advocated for our murder, yet Trump is going to honor him as a national hero.
NY Times Pitchbot My model shows an 88% chance that American society will soon collapse. And I tell you the best place to get a dirty soda in Orem. All that and more in the next Silver Bulletin.
I am old enough to remember when Bari Weiss led the charge against this cancel culture on campus and in schools! It's almost as if that wasn't in good faith.
Breaking - They think they have the suspect in custody. NY Times Pitchbot Kash Patel's dismantling of the FBI will make it harder to find Charlie Kirk's real killer. But it will make it easier to make some random liberal activist the lead suspect.
Kash says, he says. The only black guy in 500 miles denies he did it, but the FBI says he was doing the mumbo jumbo dance, so he is the prime suspect.
He announced it on Fox & Fiends so I flip it on. Says "crime is down 100% in DC" Ummkaaay. The girl murdered in Charlotte was afraid as soon as she got on the train. A racism. We need quick trials like they have in GINA. Donnie delays & drags on his trials. "When I was hit in Butler" Ear looks perfectly fine "You hire people based on merit" Donnie's a nepo baby Black dude talking Chicago murders. 2 weeks ago 11 killed, this past weekend 6. Don "and that's a good weekend" chuckles NG is going to Memphis. Just announcing this now. Head of Union Pacific told him. "Sir, we really need it there. I have to take an armored car to my hotel" All this BS in just a few minutes.
MSM leadership is reactionary and care as much, if not more, about share price. Wasn't this way maybe 20 years go even during Bush II, but since Trump's first turn, this has been the way. Because he has been able to mobilize his followers, by the tens of millions, the way few can. There has been an intra-Black battle going on on X around the same. Those who are on the right expect everybody to be solemn in the death of Kirk, not matter how much hate he professed. I vaguely knew who he was mostly because he popped up from time to time because he was head of Talking Point USA, more or less, a PAC (though they are more than a PAC). I really started to take notice of him about a year ago when some reporters at some smaller organization went to a TalkingPoint USA conference and saw what she described as a weird mixture of college-aged conservative influencers and arm-band wearing Nazis all in the same place. She realized that, whether it was intentional or organic, that having the Nazis there drove the influencers further to the right to out do each other. And in the back room, Kirk was raising money from the wealthy. This is when I really started to pay attention to Kirk.
And an update on the Evergreen High School shooting. https://www.denverpost.com/2025/09/11/evergreen-high-school-shooting-colorado-updates/ Shot 2 - both in hospital - and killed himself. Also... The 16-year-old boy who shot two students and then himself at Evergreen High School this week appeared to espouse white supremacist views online and showed an interest in mass shooters in the days before the attack. Social media accounts that appear to be connected to shooter Desmond Holly are littered with references to mass shootings and antisemitic views, The Denver Post found.
He was radicalized by having leftist propaganda shoved down his throat by woke teachers. Don't worry, MAGA has this covered in the unlikely event it cracks the news cycle ever again.
They've caught the suspect. Tyler Robinson, 22. Apparently father turned him in. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/suspect-charlie-kirk-shooting-tyler-robinson-rcna230504
