See, this is a link dump. No way I'm going to watch it. You trust your neighbors but you brand your calves.
Something going on in Lower Gunnuttia that I've not heard of before - sanctuary cities for guns. The Tazewell County, Virginia, Board of Supervisors recently jumped aboard the fast-moving Second Amendment sanctuaries train. In doing so, it embraced positions fundamentally at odds with state and federal constitutional law. Passing resolutions opposing certain laws or protesting governmental action is perfectly consistent with our traditions as a democracy, and no one should oppose the rights of citizens and their representatives to speak their minds. But Tazewell and a number of other localities across Virginia want to do much more. As Eric Young, an attorney and the county administrator, put it, “Our position is that Article I, Section 13, of the Constitution of Virginia reserves the right to ‘order’ militia to the localities. Therefore, counties, not the state, determine what types of arms may be carried in their territory and by whom. So, we are ‘ordering’ the militia by making sure everyone can own a weapon.” Other counties are announcing different schemes if gun safety laws are enacted: For example, the Culpeper County sheriff pledged to deputize “thousands of our law-abiding citizens” so they can own firearms. https://slate.com/news-and-politics...ment-gun-sanctuary-movement-constitution.html
Nullification isn't particularly new and, for the most part, the courts have rules against local laws overriding federal laws, except on the grounds where the federal law itself isn't valid (for various reasons). Now, for Virignia's state laws regarding gun control, that might be different. I know that there are a number of jurisdictions in Washington that have declared they won't enforce the recently passed gun control regulations, but I'm not sure that's gone to court yet since they haven't actually done anything yet.
The "my gun has killed less people than Ted Kennedy's car" bumper sticker in the 70s was more clever but YMMV

Proud of your kids, and of your admin for supporting them. That said, how many do you think would have said, "This is what we're going to do" and done it without the administration's blessing? How many Tinkers in that student body? That's a question only you can answer, and I hope it's a high percentage.
Crowd in Buckingham Co, VA at Board of Supervisors meeting making the county a "2A sanctuary city." Black dude in back looks like a court officer of some kind. Spectators applaud as the Buckingham County Board of Supervisors unanimously votes to pass a Second Amendment Sanctuary City resolution at a meeting in Buckingham, Virginia, on Dec. 9, 2019. The board passed the resolution without any public discussion.
Sanctuary City? From what do gunz need to seek sanctuary, unless it's the people looking forward to the day they can use them in self-defense?
